[VIDEO] UFC 144 Danavlog #1

You know the deal by now, Potato Nation. Dana White’s first video blog for UFC 144 takes a look back at the aftermath of UFC 143, as has become the norm. So we’re going to skip the fancy introduction and get right into it.

(1:43) -  Matt Riddle has to be one of the nicest guys in the UFC, bar none. Talk about a guy that loves his job. And a metaphorical fist bump is due to Henry Martinez for putting on a hell of a fight on such short notice. DW states that he originally thought this match-up was “the worst mismatch in UFC History.” How quickly we all forgot Silva/Leites.

(2:36) - Poor Edwin Figueroa‘s testicles.

(2:44) - Apparently Bruce Leroy kicked Figueroa so hard in the balls that he forgot how many times he kicked Figueroa in the balls. Irony? Either way, we agree that a two point deduction seemed a little harsh. Then again, Caceres likely destroyed any of Figueroa’s future plans to have children, so we’ll call it even.

(4:26) - The doctors felt the wound on Mike Pierce‘s head was bad enough to warrant staples. Pierce, on the other hand, simply doesn’t have time to bleed. Little did they know who would be next in line…

(5:10) - My God that cut on Roy Nelson’s face.

(5:30) - It appears that temporary amnesia ran rampant at UFC 143, because Nelson must have blacked out during his entrance to believe he won two rounds against Fabricio Werdum. He did share a locker room with Nick Diaz, so perhaps something was in the air.

(6:00) - Has anyone read the transcript of Nick Diaz’s corner during UFC 143? It is without a doubt the most incoherent collection of boisterous claims wrapped in obscenities you will ever read. It’s also the funniest thing you’ll ever read at BloodyElbow.

(7:00) - Diaz thinks that he lost the fourth round. Maybe.

(7:49) - Nelson’s cut, all stitched up.

(9:00) - Nelson, pleading his case to Lorenzo Fertitta, who can only smile at the notion that Nelson won two rounds. I feel you, Big Country. You totally got robbed in the Junior Dos Santos fight as well.

bitteralex- February 21, 2012 at 2:21 pm
hhhmmm... that came out a lot harsher than i had intended... but in my defense, one can only take so much danga before he erupts in complete and utter rage...

actually high school was pretty good to me.. i was neither jock, nerd, popular nor pariah... although i imagine you were the type of guy that got beat up and shoved in his locker a lot... you probably thought you were all funny and shit when in actuality you were annoying as fuck

and really? that's how you come back at me... attacking me grammatically? really? that's uncreative, unoriginal and all together lame... but what else should i expect from you? however, I do apologize for using the short hand of "u, ur and ppl" for "you, you're and people". I was on my iphone and it is a nightmare trying to navigate cp with it... let alone comment... I should have realized that you would be reading the comments and spelled them properly because you have the cognitive abilities of an infant...

I won as many rounds as Big Country did against Werdum.
Morningwood- February 21, 2012 at 11:50 am
@JJones yeah, I don't see how Roy thought he won. rewatching the fight and all I can think is Roy was unconscience for most of it. He had moments but nothing close to what Fabricio did throughout. He really needs to go to 205 or lower so he can remain conscience throught the fights and actually remember what happened. I could try to stir things up again and say the nelson verdum fight was closer then the diaz vs condit fight. But, I won't...
J. Jones- February 21, 2012 at 11:40 am
@Morningwood
I'm doing the same thing as a matter of fact. I got Werdum easily taking the first two rounds thus far. The first was all Werdum, and although Roy clipped Werdum late in the second, he got momentarily dropped early in the round and outstruck the rest. Thoughts?

I've been a fan since Wrestle Mania 1. Back when Roy Nelson fought under the name Fabulous Moolah
Morningwood- February 21, 2012 at 11:13 am
now I have to watch the nelson fight again to see if he's right.

Would a tuf noob still be considered a noob? That show started in like January of 2005. So you're still a noob if you haven't been a diehard fan for more than 7 years? I wouldn't know since I have been a fan since Ali took on Inoki back in '76. I think that was UFC 0.4.

^^Thanks for that background of Nick Diaz' fighting career. I only knew him from the local stockton triathlon scene.
NaturalBornRunner- February 21, 2012 at 10:48 am
@handsofgold i think nick diaz is the first guy to pull off a gogoplata submission win ever in pro mma competition (while stoned of his nut no less) also one of the most entertaining fighters to ever grace the octagon, pride ring or wec cage. Do you not watch much mma?
aaronb- February 21, 2012 at 10:38 am
Totally agree Fatty.

The idea is that there needs to be a deterrent to groin kicks. Figueroa was absolutely diminished from those leg kicks. It would have been criminal for LeeRoy to gain from multiple fouls.
bitteralex- February 21, 2012 at 10:36 am
god danga u suck... seriously... it literally pains me to read anything u blog... ur worse than a TUF noob... cuz by now a TUF noob would have figured out to pretend to know anything about mma... seriously... kill yourself or stop blogging... whichever is more convinent for u... spare the world from ur assinine mma writings...
2 points was too much? how many ppl actually think that? Keizer doesn't... edwins balls doesnt... herb dean doesn't.. an he's probably the best mma ref right now... so think of how highly I value ur opinion danga...
HandsofGold- February 21, 2012 at 10:24 am
Who is Nick Diaz?
Fatty McDickbutts- February 21, 2012 at 10:11 am
two points *wasn't* too harsh. Lord knows, that stupid motherfucker should have been DQ'd right on the spot. One kick to the groin and it's an accident -- Four, and the motherfucker needs to find a different occupation or learn how to throw a fucking kick
Prometheus- February 21, 2012 at 9:40 am
Nelson's brain must have been leaking from the vagina lacerated into his forehead.
frndlylion- February 21, 2012 at 9:31 am
Diaz needed some cheese to go with that whine.
Sirdangles- February 21, 2012 at 9:29 am
I like how nick diaz said he would have rushed in, but he didn't because he thought he was winning. I like nick as a fighter, but all those excuses he makes are just garbage.
