Video: Uriah Hall Knocks Out Bubba McDaniel in Nine Seconds on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’

(Hall vs. McDaniel. Props: Dylan95P)

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for — the public execution of our least favorite TUF 17 castmember. In case you missed last night’s episode of the show, Bubba McDaniel did everything he could to get out of the match. It had already been apparent that Bubba wasn’t mentally prepared to face Uriah Hall, and he also began complaining of exhaustion and pain in his back. Sadly, the doctor cleared Bubba to compete, and he became a quick meal for the show’s front-runner.

The nine-second knockout had onlookers speaking of Hall in lofty terms. “This guy is the nastiest guy in Ultimate Fighter history,” said UFC president Dana White. Chael Sonnen even called him a contender for the middleweight title. Hmm. That might be the case, but when Hall officially makes it to the UFC, he’ll eventually have to face guys who aren’t terrified of being in the cage with him.

Uriah will compete again in next week’s semifinals episode, where he’ll face Dylan Andrews, who TKO’d Luke Barnatt last week. On the other side of the bracket, 21-year-old prodigy Kelvin Gastelum will go heads-up against Josh Samman, who finished Jimmy Quinlan in last night’s episode. You can check out highlights from that scrap after the jump.

As we enter the Final Four, Team Jones and Team Sonnen both have their #2 and #7 picks remaining…

Uriah Hall – semifinalist, defeated Adam Cella and Robert “Bubba” McDaniel

Team Jones

As an MMA fan, I have only a few things to point out: One, Dana himself recognizes that Hall is one of the most devastating and dangerous fighters he has ever seen, and this comes mostly from his showing in TUF. Second, this guy could arguably have the sickest KO highlight reel out there already, and in such a short time. Third, Uriah appears to possess a very high fight IQ, like Anderson or GSP. He even said before the fight that he expected Bubba to come at him aggressively from the get-go, and that he was looking to capitalize on that split second opening that would inevitably present itself when Bubba comes at him. And that is precisely what he did. Dana is smart enough not to throw him to the sharks right away, but give this guy 2 or 3 fights, he will be a contender. I feel Hall will definitely eventually be a champ

Change his nickname to "Hubba" Bubba because his ass got chewed up and spit out like it was made of pink bubblegum.

He definitely took a dive. He wanted to spend as little time in the cage with Hall as possible. Who can blame him after hearing the crack of that dudes face from Hall's spinning heel kick
mookiestick- April 3, 2013 at 4:02 pm
It looked like he gave up. I'm not saying he wan't hurt and I know we's tweeted all this orbital bone stuff but it kinda looked like a dive..

I can't believe Bubba was complaining about the fights he got.
Fight One: Bubba chose Kelvin, got choked out
Fight 2: Bubba was lucky to get a fight he didn't deserve, fought Kevin who gave up due to "mild kidney failure"
Fight 3: Dana has had enough of him and gives him to Uriah, who is the first fight Bubba hasn't wanted, and he bitches about it. The best shot he got on Uriah was when they touched gloves, and I'm glad he's out of the competition.

I agree with Sonnen on this kid, he has jones reach and silva nasty standup. Is lightning fast and athletic to no end. Only thing stopping hall is he gets sad after destroying lesser beasts. Long term that's not good.

Bubba was KO'd mentally & emotionally before the bell rang.

"What happened? What happened? What's wrong with my eye?"

Thanks a lot fuckwads.
Haven't seen the episode yet but this headline just popped up on my newsfeed.
Delighted Bubba got starched though. Guess it was too much to hope he and Samman would both get their karmic buggering in the same episode.

Same as me, I was trying to avoid spoilers but decided to log on facebook for a minute and it's the first thing I could see. I had to unlike CagePoatato to make sure that never happens again.

You are so right about the headline, though. Werid from CP to do something like this, they are generally quite good at not spoiling things in the headlines.

Dudes a beast...but bubba was a bitch yur not gonna get anywhere in the fight game looking for easy fights and being a scared girl.

Captain Insano shows no mercy.
RearNakedSpoon- April 3, 2013 at 5:56 am
KO going backwards connecting with the eye and then Bubba acting like he's under medical sedation afterwards...Hall is easily the nastiest knockout artist outside of the HW division.
ChileLimon616- April 3, 2013 at 11:22 pm
agreed. dude is hectic
JayJitsu310- April 3, 2013 at 5:53 am
I know Dana is over-hyping Hall just to make people want to see him fight, but not by much. Dude is nasty...

No one is going to talk about how Sonnen couldn't say "deter"? He tried to say "detour" at the same time and he wound up making a new word: de-tore. I don't know what that means, but Sonnen thinks Uriah Hall will not be de-tored on his path to a shitle tot.
danomite- April 3, 2013 at 4:19 pm
No, I'm pretty sure he meant detoured. He doesn't want anyone throwing up roadblocks that might 'detour' Uriah on his path to victory. Remember, Chael Sonnen is never wrong.
