MMA Fighter Challenges People to Punch Him in the Face, Everyone Fails

Video: Won’t You Join Randy Couture in the Gym For a Spell?

Ever wanted to go inside one of Randy Couture‘s training camps in a five-part series of webisodes designed for the fan with a minimally-functioning knowledge of MMA?  Then you’re in luck.  SI.com posted the first video in their journey through Couture’s preparations for his bout with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 102, and it’s not bad.  No serious revelations here for the hardcore fan, but they’re just getting started.  In related news, Couture’s currently a -190 favorite over at BetUs.com.  Wonder how much of that is based on his skills, and how much is the result of the sickly, sluggish performance from Nogueira in his last outing.

Yeah. He has been submitted but not recently so I think he deserves to be the favourite. Randy also looked a bit slow in his last fight so to be honest, I think he should be calling it a day if not after this fight, then soon after it. You can't beat the ageing process, but I think randy's had it in some tough positions and certainly made it pay for any takedown attempts and I've really worked myself into a corner with this metaphor and I'll stop now.

I don't know, I think it's a good match up for Randy. Randy has never been submitted has he? Hasn't he for the most part had his hardest times against bigger stronger wrestlers? I could be wrong but I never thought of a bjj guy as a bad match up for Randy. He can dictate where the fight goes and he's got top notch submission defense and top notch top control/gnp. I would have had him as the favorite regardless of Nog's last performance.

I'm going to say these are based on the result of the sickly, sluggish performance based from Nogueira in his last outing. He looked like a blind man trying to wrestle a bee-hive in his fight against Mir. And watching Mir get ass raped by a guy who looked like a giant, retarded, manbaby didn't fully excuse him.

This video concept is awesome and the UFC should have been producing segments like this to go with their ppv's to educate the casual fan.

Strikeforce should implement a similar series in their branding of Fedor to the American market... along with airing The Baddest Man on the Planet... a little over the top yes, but good mini-doc.

Sad indeed. I think it will be an interesting fight though that could set the winner up for a somewhat invigorated career.

It's kinda sad how this is potentially a "loser retires" fight.
