Videos: ‘Countdown to UFC 98′ Preview, Hari KO’s Schilt

(Props: FightOpinion)

In the above excerpt from the UFC’s next Countdown show (which premieres Thursday at 11 p.m. on Spike TV), we get a closer look at Lyoto Machida‘s crazy father Yoshizo, and the grueling karate training he put his sons through. Am I the only one who wants to see how Yoshizo would do in a Seniors’ MMA league? Maybe throw him in the cage against Frank Mir‘s dad…

After the jump: Video of the main event bout between former K-1 heavyweight champ Badr Hari and current K-1 super-heavyweight champ Semmy Schilt at Saturday’s "It’s Showtime 2009" kickboxing event in Amsterdam.

(Props: The Garv. Fight is from 1:58-2:54)

After this I want to see Machida vs Hari...

I really like how everyone likes Machidas "elusiveness" but when Silva does it hes is relentlessley critisized for it. I like Machida and Silva both but I think Evans is going to hold that belt for a long time.

I have no problem watching Machida frustrate other fighters through the use of his superior mobility and technical striking skills.

Its Mixed MARTIAL ARTS not Mixed Street Brawling fools!

Oh I know he's going to be the champ...doesn't mean I have to like watching it. I totally appreciate his elusiveness and technical skills, in fact, I think he's one of the best I've seen at that. It just isn't very fun to watch sometimes when he just takes the fight off and doesn't want to finish his opponent.

Evans is going down. Machida will not be touched.

MMA Seniors' league has some real promise. Book a 16 man tournament, Joe Silva!

(I got Al Stankie over Tank Abbott in the finals via Peruvian necktie)

I love that in the first 30 seconds of this video they reassert the stereotype that all Japs are short.
Da Truth- May 18, 2009 at 8:44 am
that is semmy schilt..the unstoppable King of K1 and he dropped him like a geek on prom night
Sho Nuff- May 18, 2009 at 8:24 am
"We" nothing. Machida is my favorite fighter. Dude is incredible and will reign a long time as champ.
HARJO- May 18, 2009 at 8:04 am
Machida is the fuckin' man son! Rashad is a tough dude, but will get frustrated with not being able to attack Machida, make a mistake, then walk into a Machida flurry and get whooped.

New champ is comin' kids... get used to it.
Perdew- May 18, 2009 at 8:04 am

you better get used to it because lyoto is gonna be champ for quite some time.
Wyatt- May 18, 2009 at 7:24 am
Try all you want, UFC, we still don't like Machida. It just isn't going to happen.
C-Bus Allstar- May 18, 2009 at 7:23 am
Lesner Vs. Hari

Make it happen, Dana.

Is there any doubt that Overeem is better than every k1 fighter and is in fact the greatest heavyweight in any combat sport known to man
The End of Time- May 18, 2009 at 6:17 am
It was nice having one guy in K1 for awhile who was unstoppable.
