Fox Sports Net aired their Fedor: The Baddest Man on the Planet documentary special last night, in which "the mystique of Fedor is uncovered," and "the secrets of the world’s most dominant fighter are finally revealed." And it was pretty damn entertaining, actually. Maybe not quite on the level of UFC Primetime (second episode airs tonight!), but we do get some insight into Emelianenko’s state of mind before and during fights, his shadowy training camp in Stary Oskol, his sado-masochistic bath-house routine, and his uniquely awesome way of trash-talking during grappling sessions. ("The crazy is coming. The crazy is going to happen now. It’s coming. Very soon.") Parts 1 and 2 are above, and parts 3-6 can be found at YouTube.com/DirtyFedor.

Below: This Japanese TV clip shows Olympic judo gold-medalist Satoshi Ishii visiting Las Vegas, where he steps into the Octagon for the first time, tries on the UFC’s "open-finga-glovos," takes some standup tips from Stephan Bonnar, and gives Randy Couture quite a workout.

Honestly Mir really could beat the shit out of most people armed with a baseball bat. I think you guys underestimate how hard it would be to connect with a fight ending blow, and you’d only get one swing before he was on you. A swing with a bat is going to be a lot slower and more telegraphed than the punchs he is use to dogding/blocking. I mean I took down a kid tryin to hit me with a skateboard and I’m not a ufc heavyweight champion. I just had to wait for him to swing and miss, after the swing you have a few seconds before he can pull it back and swing again.

Of course this is all assuming he knows you have a bat and intend on hitting him with it. If he didn’t see it coming that’s a different story and you could probably kill his ass.

Why is the jap such a big deal?
He won a gold medal….so did a billion other japs!!

A guy like Nastula who lost his four PRIDE fights to legit top 10 guys was a multiple everything winner in judo with tons and tons of experience as where most of these other judo guys.
This kid is young but has basically two international events under his belt.

A cop who works with our dept is a judo instructor and he claims that Ishii will be a footnote in judo history. He is not the youngest world champ (thats some french frog who is 18) and he isnt a legend like David Douillet (i know hes big because he has a video game named after him) was so its equivalent to say, Sean Sherk leaving the UFC. Sure, he was a champion but once he leaves, most wont ever remember he was there.

I get the being young champion is cool but a sub 6ft HW isnt exactly screaming ‘must watch’.

Fuck, Randy looks ooooooooooold.
Must be the syph taht the cunt gave him.

I refuse to believe that “baddest man alive” loves ice cream and rollercoasters. He should love chugging turpentine and barb wire handjobs. I’d love to grab the seat behind Fedor on a rollercoaster and just before we crest the biggest hill and he throws his arms in the air and giggles like a schoolgirl, I’d sink in a choke. After I felt the life go out of him, I’d stick one of his stupid icecream cones onto his forehead so he looks like a unicorn. Then I’d take a photo of him with my cel phone and send it to his commie mom with a note that says “America punishes weakness.”.

Did Affliction have to get the rights to the highlights to do this, or did Fox Sports? If it was Fox, I don’t see DW complaining seeing as he’s trying to get more exposure for the sport. He may not have known that they were eventually going to use the reels for an Affliction special. Not to mention, that Fedor himself owns the rights to alot of his own footage.

fox sports actually owns the rights to pride footage in america ufc can show a limited amount in U.S. thats why the ufc didn’t show the countdown to 93 it had pride footage
