commentsI do agree a bit with S., but i like to try and flip perspective. haha.(not that anyone cares.)
However, I was pretty impressed with Amir overall. He certainly needs to work on his wrestling and jits stills, but he show lots of promise.
Look, if a guy doesn't know enough to even attempt to sink the hooks and an RNC in on a prone opponent that's giving up his back, then he shouldn't be on the show. If you don't have the wrestling skills to be able to have a few decent takedown attempts and defend takedowns and understand the importance of hip position/strength, you shouldn't be on the show. If you don't have some type of basic functional stand-up attack/defense...learn it before you start dreaming of having Dana White wrap a gaudy gold belt around your waist. Basic jits-101 skills such as learning how to hold side-mount, pass various types of leg-defenses to gain gaurd, and to be aware of and intelligently defend arm-bar/triangle/guillotine attacks should be de riguer for a show such as this. I'm not saying everyone has to be a BJ Penn...just have the BASICS of the MMA fight language down and functional before they are on national tv challenging for a UFC contract.
Nothing personal against any of these competitors...they all have my respect for walking into the cage and putting it all on the line. I'm just saying that if the UFC keeps this kind of programming up then they will fall behind the curve of today and tomorrow's rapidly-becoming-educated fight fan...if it hasn't happened already with this season.
Seriously man, is this the best available?
