Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Videos: James Thompson vs. Butterbean, Ross Geller + More

Just a little something to whet your appetites for Saturday. James Thompson has suffered some quick and embarrassing knockouts in his career, but this freak bout against Eric Esch at Cage Rage 20 in February 2007 was maybe the most humiliating. The announcers warn Thompson of “Buh’ah’bane”‘s infamous overhand right — but alas, poor James cannot hear them, and he’s out seconds later.

More video awesomeness after the jump…

@ josh... If you want to see a very skilled fighter who actually knocks people out and doesn't need to run away to do it watch Anderson Silva
jimmmmboooo- June 3, 2008 at 2:33 am
i'm a boxer of 18 years better known as the one hitta quitta bet he couldn't go 15 rounds with me

If you want to watch an unskilled fight, you can go buy those old classless "Bumfights" videos that used to be produced. If you want someone who isn't just throwing wild blows, and who does so with sound technique, Machida is very good.

Ok let me get this out there first. I am NOT a rich franklin, tito or machida fan at all period,

Machida's record is 13-0 with 3 Tko's 2 subs and 8 decision's 8!!!!! out of 13 wins went the distance.

his last TKO win was on 4/29/06 OVER 2 YEARS AGO!!!

you talk about his knockout of RF being so cool that was about 4 1/2 years ago.

if you really like a fighter who does nothing but circles and counters his opponent over and over again with the random take down and body kick thrown in then he is your man. I do have respect for his speed and striking ability but really nothing else, landing more jabs and running from opponents (i call it running cause he has no head movement he just back pedals when attacked) might win you fights but who wants to pay 50 bucks a ppv to see a fight headlined by someone who fights like that? not me so sorry he may be a very skilled fighter but it doesn't mean i have to pay to watch it

You can say Machido sucks at this....he sucks at that. He's boring....or whatever. If you think that, then don't watch him.
Just sit back and wait till he fights and dismantles your favorite fighter. Then you can cry even more.
Machidawhat?- May 29, 2008 at 2:34 pm
Isn't Machida undefeated? Say all you want about how "boring" he is, one word - SCOREBOARD.
MKXii- May 29, 2008 at 12:56 pm
So what I take away from this video is that Machida SUCKS at armbars and rear nakeds.
C-Bus Allstar- May 29, 2008 at 11:39 am
I'd like to see Machida face Rich Franklin today. I have a feeling it would be an ENTIRELY different fight.
OrMMA- May 29, 2008 at 5:26 am
Wow...McDonald getting tapped out by a straight forearm choke? Machida is the real deal, his only problem was people wanted to see him slug it out with Tito, which would be a horrible game plan, I don't think they wanted Tito to win, they just wanted to see Tito crumpled in the cage, or crying ala-liddell. We'll see how some of the fights go against a submission fighter though, he has amazing power for his size, so a Wandi/Jackson fight would be exciting, but the way Tito could have tapped him with a committed triangle, we would have seen another Ed Herman style end to a fight.

james thompson fights like a big stoopid doofus!! he should leave the fighting and get into commentating.......wait, he talks like a big stoopid doofus too!!!maybe he should just keep pailing the water to the good fighters that are thirsty. im not a kimbo fan by any means, but thompson is gonna get knocked the fuck out. i cant believe their calling that a main event!!!!

There u see u non believers!

Machida is weak? Machida doesnt have skills? All u fucking haters have now seen what Machida can do!

ThePeniX- May 29, 2008 at 1:02 am
I wonder how many hours of running they had to edit out to get this montage.

Oops, my bad. "Elusiveness".
Jewbee- May 29, 2008 at 12:22 am
Also, alot of his opponents have been bigger than him , like Stephon Bonner.
Jewbee- May 29, 2008 at 12:17 am
Franklin and Machida are pretty close in size, and Rich was the UFC champ before meeting A Silva. Tito had a size advantage as far as upper body strength, as did Soukodjou. Machida, like A Silva, is a counter-puncher and isnt just going to stand there and get punched in the face. There's no reason to hate on this guy other than to just be a hater.
fightfan- May 29, 2008 at 12:03 am
Add some Pantera, and I "ll watch Houston Alexander fight clips of his last 2 fights!!
WalksInTheDarkness- May 28, 2008 at 11:55 pm
Yeah, he beats up on smaller guys, congratulations... When big guys beat smaller guys it's no surprise, when it works the other way round, then it's interesting - Ask the Japanese!
Jewbee- May 28, 2008 at 10:55 pm
Ask... Rich Franklin if Machida has a killer instinct. I cant edit my post... : - (
Jewbee- May 28, 2008 at 10:54 pm
Rich Franklin if Machida has a killer instinct..
WalksInTheDarkness- May 28, 2008 at 10:17 pm
The Machida highlights really do show his lack of killer instinct. He hits with some great shots but then refuses to capitalise on any of them. Far too cautious. I really want to see the whole fight but from the high lights BJ Penn really looks like he was coming at him a lot, absorbing a lot of hits from a guy who is THREE weight divisions higher than him. Fedor got called all sorts of names when he fought Matt Lindland because he was lighter than him yet I haven't heard the same thing from about Machida? A crazy Wanderlei would destroy him and teach him a lesson. If you score a good hit, hit your opponent again, and again until he falls. Don't just try to score points.
Lyotohhhhh- May 28, 2008 at 10:04 pm
What else does this guy have to do? Am I the only one that loved the fight against tito? He picked tito apart. He took him down. He had some nice kicks...some ground and pound...a vicious knee. Minus the last 20 seconds of the fight, he dominated tito. He is a smart fighter who has incredible timing. He cut open tito's eye too.
The same people that call Lyoto boring probably call Floyd Mayweather boring too because he is elusive.
Maybe these people are looking for the "excitement" of a toughman competition.

StoneSour Come What(Ever) May

i dont know the second one.
Matt- May 28, 2008 at 8:37 pm
Anyone know what the first 2 songs are on the Machida Video?
Mr.Whitefolks- May 28, 2008 at 8:33 pm
After Watching this reel, I have to take back calling his Ortiz fight a dance recital.
sol- May 28, 2008 at 8:24 pm
so by the looks of it, Machida's only boring fight was against Tito, go figure.

Plus that Rich Franklin KO was awesome.
