The Pride highlight is GREAT. Not that the current days of MMA are too shabby, but I do look at the Pride era as "the good ole' days." Seeing Americans like Mezger, Hendo, and especially Chuck and Jens makes my spine tingle. The UFC did put in that rule so MMA could become legal and regulated in more states. That is essentially what helped UFC get off the ground and maintain success so they could bring their show to a wider audience.

Wow. Great highlight video. It's funny that someone mentioned scrub japanese fighters because i was thinking halfway through it "my god everyone getting knocked out is asain". With the exception of Gomi i guess.

I was also thinking about the foot stomps and knees to the head of a downed opponent while watching it. I used to think i liked Prides rules far better than those of the UFC. I am either becoming old and lame or UFC has brainwashed me because it seemed too brutal. The knees to the back of the head to a downed opponent while driving all of the fighters weight into it seems very dangerous. Did the UFC just make up the back of the head rule or am i crazy and it isn't all that dangerous? Also, what the hell is with those refs. They obviously weren't trained in intelligent defense because there were plenty of times when the fighter was clearly knocked out, the winning fighter is beggining to celebrate and then realizes that the ref isnt calling it until he hits hima few more times to make sure.

Those soccer kicks and head stomps are pretty brutal...I'm all for it. Though how anyone is supposed to be 'intelligently defending' themselves AND getting kicked in the head while on the ground all at once...beyond me.

Sounds like some third rate Korean eletroinics knockoff instead of a some roided third rate HW who will probably get a title shot because of the sad state of UFC HW division.
Thank god the brits have their own third rate fighter ready for Carwin.
And considering that the headliners are 2nd rate fighters, people will get their money's worth for 8.99$.
