Videos: Rampage and Wandy Talk Grudge Match, Frank Mir Drills His Jits
(Props: MMA Scraps)
Anybody else psyched that Jackson/Silva III is just eight days away? Sure, it could be a one-sided stomping like their first two matches, but their upcoming meeting at UFC 92 has serious heat behind it. It's no made-up storyline — these guys genuinely dislike each other. In the ESPN clips above, Rampage says that Wanderlei was lucky in PRIDE, but he hasn't looked lucky in a while. He wishes Silva a good Christmas, because he isn't going to be too happy come New Year's. Silva, for his part, is upset with all of Jackson's Internet-hatin', which he doesn't consider "a man's attitude."
After the jump, fellow UFC 92 competitor Frank Mir works on rubber-guard techniques with the very-excitable Eddie Bravo. If Mir manages to catch Big Nog with one of these subs next weekend, Joe Rogan will not be able to stop screaming.

DWORD Says:
Silva & Rampage I & II were not a one sided stomping. Watch the first rounds of both of those fights and rampage is dominating. Also note how much Rampage has improved and evolved as a fighter. The only concerns for me is Rampage's mental health...Though in his interviews he seems healthy and focused.
Rampages defense has improved leaps and bounds if he can defend against Silva's clinch, Rampage has this fight for sure.
Lonny Says:
I don't see Mir finishing Nog... He had a hard enough time trying to finish Wes Sims.
koeikan@gmail.com Says:
Bravo is probably blazed as shit.
terrence Says:
dude you're bleeding
jepsis Says:
I also disagree that their previous were one-sided. They both were total wars, until the point when Wanderlei summoned hes knees into the battle.
C.G. Says:
Bravo - "Do you ever do go go polatas?"
Mir - "no"
Bravo- "Did you ever smoke like a pound of green in one sitting?"
Mir"...No"
Bravo- ".....Where am I"
armfarmer Says:
Jesus christ do why do the videos go from barely being able to make out what page or silva is saying to the announcer screaming at the top of his lungs? I'm trying to be discrete while I'm watching these at work and I'm pretty sure my entire hallway just heard SIIIIIILLLLLLVVVAAAAAAAA!!!
Ted Nutmeg Says:
I agree that the first two fights were not one-sided. If Pride had not followed the "Stand Up Wanderlei's Fights At Any Cost" rule, this series would be split 1-1.
Emo Sux Says:
The guy Mir is rolling with looks like Brock Lesnar's 6 year old kid brother
Tpark Says:
Eddie bravo is the man but that still won't help Mir
Malannon Says:
Many of you are forgetting that the "Dominating" Rampage action figure got put back in his manufacturers origional box half way through those first two fights. Who was his replacement? An Action Rampage Damage Sponge, now with realistic Hang'n Bleed motion!
In both cases it was as if they switched large howling black men in between rounds.
Wandi knocks out Quinten in round 3
Deadpanda Says:
Well, I dont think that Nog will get caught in an arm lock like that, but I do think he might get caught in a triangle while trying to defend against the oma plata arm lock. It'll be interesting to see if Mir can pull it off.
& I think Wandy is going to have trouble with Jackson with no face stomps alowed.
TUF Guy Says:
Mir is gonna get cought in an oompa loompa leg lock.
Santiago Perez Says:
Cant beleive we got some sherdog forum illness spread over the potato nation...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSS wHOOOOOOOPING
deal with it
Tomahawk1fan Says:
I tried to follow your warning, but my whole department just heard "SIIIIIIILLLLLLLVVAAAAA!" too. My hand was right on my volume control too. Damn.
Old, Bald and Irish Says:
EDDIE BRAVO WILL REMAIN FAMOUS!
...until he blows out a knee.
Bravo's got some sweet moves and knows his stuff. I don't wish him ill, but his games gonna have to change once Father Time has his way with him.
But Bravos pretty creative. i'm sure he'll change with time.
At my age, there's no way I can get my foot that close to face. Wish I could, but that shit ain't happening! Between my bursitis and exploding hemmaroids, it would not be a pretty sight...
Mir's smart gettin' some tips from Bravo. he's gonna need it against Nog.
vrane Says:
Like Nog is gonna be in Frank's guard.
xian67 Says:
dude eddie bravo is sick
emo sux Says:
im kinda expecting wand vs rampage to be a classic... it has all the makings of becoming one... its not gonna be as easy to finish rampage off this time, but there will undoubtedly be Vergasos to last a decade!
Jugger Says:
OB&I,
"exploding hemmaroids"... haha, that's awesome. I hope you're joking, though.
Page vs. Wandy III is razor thin. Neither of them are the same fighters they were when they fight met; both are better and smarter. And to further complicate things...
Their first fight never really counted to me because Page had gone toe-to-to with Chuck Liddell only an hour earlier. Imagine fighting Chuck and Wandy in the same night. I will forever respect Quinton for doing that. Sidenote: Wandy fought Yoshida earlier that night... definitely not a gimme, but he took zero damage in that fight.
Their second fight was a bit of an anomaly too because Page accepted Christ as Savior and spent the three days leading up to that fight fasting. He was gassed before he threw the first punch.
Using their first two fights to predict the third is pretty foolhardy.
Goog Says:
If Rampage only gets one chance to hit someone with his truck, he should have saved it for Silva. Say what you want, QRJ has lost all his swagger. We'll see what he brings to the octagon, but if his interviews are any indication... he'd better snap out of it. He's still slow talking, non-aggressive, and kinda spaced out.
Like anyone, he can land a well timed shot and certainly win. But he'd better stay focused. Wandy don't f* around.
Billy Bad Ass Says:
Joe Rogan loves the rubber guard. However he does not love rubbers. So now my sister is pregnant. Bastard.
Smackdaddiest1 Says:
Exactly....Wandy don't f* around, which is why I predict Silva by first round stoppage.
If he doesn't take Quinton's life in the cage, I will be sorely disappointed.
CubicalGangster Says:
this is the single most circumstantial video ever...
lets just call this training session, "if big nog is having the worst day of his life and forgets all his jiu jitsu" session
Scott Says:
Ploatas? gogoplata...
Scott Says:
Also, this was Mir training for Brock Lesnar, not big nog. Thats why they have that huge dude.
Perdew Says:
i wonder how Mir's abusive wife is treating him these days...
"you actually think you'll get nog with the rubber guard? you're not that flexible. you can't do half the shit i want in bed! you're a pathetic lover and delusional fighter. you are a pussy. and oh yeah. i've been fucking the guy who knocked you off your gay little bike for four years now."
CZ Says:
This has nothing to do with the post. But can someone help me? If anyone knows where I can get a boxed set of PRIDE dvds (like 10dvds or so) for my brother for christmas i would really appreciate the help. Also he had mentioned a biography on GSP out somewhere. Has anyone heard of this? I dont know if its a book or DVD. I apologize for an off topic post. Just lookin for help and this seems to be a knowledgable bunch.
T Rex Says:
I'm not sure this is the time to be learning a new type of Guard for Mir.
fetter Says:
He remembers... my knee :)
Anonymous Says:
Haha yep! :D
Whisper Says:
Haha! That ending was actually hilarious! Eddie Bravo practically has the guy on his head, having crazy high-level jiu-jitsu done on him for most of the clip and all of a sudden, "Dude, you're bleeding..." Well, yeah, you've been cutting off his circulation for a good five minutes!
I wonder what that guy's explanation was.
"Well, you see... um... that transition from omaplata... well... my face was being crushed on the mat... so..."
Derly Says:
"Now you're in chill dawg..."
and
"Dude you're bleeding..."
Two favorite quotes.
Superman32 Says:
why would you think your going to out jiu jitsu, a jiu jitsu expert. I've liked frank ever since he broke tim's arm but he's out of his league if he thinks he's going toes in jiu jitsu with nog he's so wrong
Superman32 Says:
case and point!!
Rampage Smackson Says:
I heard Rampage is really training with a pack of wolves. Sadly, they don't teach Tai Clinch defense.
Da Truth Says:
Some serious moves there from Eddie...however i dont think Mir is paying much attention! haha
P.S Kids playing on the mats in background may not be the most intense training atmosphere! Is that a creche or a Gym?! hehehe
