Videos: Rashad Evans Says Rampage Has Lost His Fighting Love, Trigg Talks Cut Rumors, + More

An upbeat Rashad Evans took some time out of his busy schedule to talk to “Inside MMA’s” robot-programmed-to-simulate-human-emotions Ron Kruck about the “Rampage” Jackson beef and what he thinks of Jackson’s obviously disingenuous offer to do this fight underground gym style, ala Kimbo Slice/Sean Gannon.  Evans seems to think that Jackson is moving on to the world of acting because he simply doesn’t love fighting any more.  And when you think about it?  He might be right.  Just like he’s probably right when he says that if ‘Page wouldn’t show up for a contracted fight in his hometown, there’s a good chance he wouldn’t show up for this free fight either.  For the interview’s most unintentionally hilarious moment, skip to the 6:35 mark to hear Evans take a question about Jackson walking into his house a little too literally.

After the jump, Frank Trigg explains why he thought he was getting cut by the UFC (and yeah, the story begins with a ‘what had happened was’ explanation), and a video of a little kid we’re actually a little scared of.

At the end of that 13 minute interview, I decided that Rashad if DEFINITELY one of my favorite fighters. I had the phrase "class act" in my head the whole time before Kruck actually said it.

Rashad has officially replaced Rampage in my favorite fighters. Rashad was always really close but I didn't feel he was top 10 favorite fighter worthy, and Rampage's recent actions have given me serious consideration as to whether I like him at all.

I will update my sig accordingly.

I grew up in the traditional martial arts. I now compete in MMA. That being said, I have a big problem with that young child going to accept the approval of his coach before the referee has announced the decision. Yes, he won, but it is a bad habit to do what he did. When he is older and has some respect, he will realize that.

Props to the kid for the armbar. I love it when the kid in swimming trunks and baggy t-shirt throws down and schools the kid with his Sprawl Shorts and Naga rash guard. He can high five his dad all he wants. You can see him ask the kid, "Are you okay?"

seriously... that armbar kid was a freakin dick. you don't have to crank it until it hurts in order to win. it was a great technique, but his coach needs to work on teaching him to respect other competitors a little bit more.

and the way he immediately went to his coach/dad for approval points to an environment of extreme pressure to win at all costs, Marinovich-style.

Can we have a rampage ban? I know hes the coach on TUF and all but you can do away without saying his name.. I say a ban until he gets his head out of his ass, realizes he wants his belt back, and signs with the ufc again. Great fighter, shitty person.

With so many kids starting so young.. and pulling off things like that in competition.. the future of mma is going to be amazing. In 10-15 years guys like A. Silva and gsp will be a dime a dozen.

Rampage is an entertainer who happens to be a good fighter. Whether or not one thinks he is entertaining, that is another story.
