This is one of those rare crazy armbars that works exactly like it was drawn up, and it’s pulled off by a judo guy, no less. How often does that happen? Probably a little more often where there’s a gi to hold on to and the guy you’re doing it on has more experience with throws than submissions, but we still think it’s pretty cool. The throw that follows it is also not bad, as long as you don’t mind giving your back to your opponent as soon as you hit the mat.
You know what’s far less cool, though? You will after the jump.

Man, there are few things we love more than two guys making their own highlight reel of self-defense moves set to AC/DC songs. It’s even better once they start working on how to disarm muggers and thugs armed with knives or guns.
The first thing to know is that it’s very important for these thugs to act like thugs in the movies. Grabbing you by the shirt collar, holding the gun within arm’s reach of you, those are very important elements. Also, when you take the gun away from the guy, go ahead and walk towards him with it so that you are then close enough for him to grab it away from you, thus beginning a never-ending circle. After all, what good is a gun going to do you against an unarmed man who you stay several feet away from?

I so glad someone finally demonstrated the leapfrog attack, it works awesome if your attacker happens to be in a wheelchair, but make sure that they have the brake engaged first or you may end up going for a ride on their lap.

For the record, Judo was the style that BJJ came from...a few note's on Judo, as it seems people are so condescending towards it compared to BJJ. First off, Judo is a complete system, not just a style of ground fighting. 2nd, BJJ is part of Judo...a small part. 3rd... For all intents and purposes, Judo negates even the best BJJ, and in turn a true Judo master is going to dominate BJJ guys with little or no risk of getting submitted...don't act like BJJ isn't a cheap rip-off of Judo, it is...
