Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Videos: Shinya Aoki vs. George Sotiropoulos, Shin vs. Testicles

(Aoki vs. Sotiropoulos, Shooto: Champion Carnival, 10/14/06. Props: MiddleEasy. Fight starts at the 4:00 mark.)

Before he was a rising lightweight star in the UFC, George Sotiropoulos was just another Australian prospect trying to make a name for himself. In October 2006, Sotiropoulos found himself in the ring with Shinya Aoki, who had become the 170-pound boss of Shooto earlier that year. As you’ll see, Georgie spent the entire first round desperately defending leg-lock attempts. Clearly outmatched in the grappling department, he tried a different strategy as soon as round two started — he punted Aoki directly in the groin. The Tobikan Judan couldn’t continue, and the fight was ruled a DQ loss for Sotiropoulos. It wasn’t the first time that Aoki was stopped due to a foul, and it wouldn’t be the last. In 2005, Aoki earned a DQ victory over Shigetoshi Iwase thanks to a low blow, and his first meeting with Gesias Cavalcante ended in a no-contest due to some illegal elbows to the back of the head. Bad luck or overacting? And speaking of nasty nut shots…

After the jump: Former American Gladiator/"MMA fighter" Justice Smith kicks a man in the balls as hard as he can, in the name of science.

Sport Science should work on their anatomy. Their fancy animations show the nerve supply to the testes branching off of the cauda equina.. DON'T THEY KNOW HIS ORCHIALGIA WILL REFER TO HIS THORACO-LUMBAR REGION?

If i were a betting man i'd guess he just tucks his balls up and over his pubic symphysis like a porn star does when he doesn't want his balls flapping around in front of the camera blocking the view.

can he not find a better paid job then being kicked in the dick for 5 years?? how the fuck do you even think about ball conditioning?? i mean people who do Thai boxing practice shin conditioning were they kick the snot out of something hard with their shins to make the bone harder.. i read an new report about some dick headed yank attempting to do the same thing with his skull in order not to get ko'd but he died due to fucking up his brain.... but come on... really ball conditioning... in what way would this be useful??

Good. I hope Aoiki feels some physical pain for being such an inconsiderate asshole in his past fights & interviews.

If we sit through the whole show, is there some explanation as to why this guy has spent 5 years getting kicked in the balls?

Wow I am glad to see Aoki get kicked in the nuts. Neve liked him, he reminds me of a weasel. It almost looked like George did it on purpose. And wtf was up with draping a towel over Aoki's crotch while he was laying there? Is that supposed to help?

Also, Joe Rogan posted a gif on his twatter where you can see Kos' eye poke.

On the next Sports Science, Kyrby allows Kevin Burns to fingerfuck his eyesocket, Jon Jones to drop downward elbows on his nose, and then takes a full on K Sos headbutt.

(FYI, That show is a Steve Mazzagatti production.)

That should probably be a no-contest, fighters get hit in the nuts all the time. By awarding a DQ win you are incentive-izing fighters into saying they can't continue when they are hit in the nuts. On the other hand, if a fighter knew he could be disqualified for a nut shot or eye poke, he would probably be more careful...

Might we see this display on the next Ben vs Ben?!

Overreacting, maybe. Perhaps he could've toughed it out, but at least he sold it. As in the foul is committed (either a kick to the nuts or a shot to the back of the head) immediately followed by a reaction. Like Renzo vs Frank Shamrock. As opposed to when Brock was pounding the living shit out of Mir, Mazzagatti's dumb ass stops the action and warns about hitting to the back of the head, THEN Mir starts grabbing his noggin, writhing in pain, twitching ans shit. Big difference.

And then there's what Koscheck did vs Rumble. Just blatantly lying/faking an injury

That nut-shot-taker is one smug sob. I'd like to see how smug he is when James Toney side check kicks him in the nuts. No more American gladiator soccer kick bull. Let a real deathfighter take a crack.

As the old saying goes, if you can't beat em, kick em in the nuts so he can't beat you anymore.
