Will Chael Sonnen‘s over-the-top trash-talk infuriate Anderson Silva into engaging with him? Will Sonnen make good on his promise to come straight at the Spider and force him to fight? Would Dana White really cut his middleweight champion after a win? Has Sonnen signed his own death warrant, or bought a ticket to a 25-minute dance contest? All these questions will be answered on August 7th, when Silva and Sonnen meet at UFC 117 in Oakland, California. Speaking of #117, the event will reportedly host the welterweight rematch between Thiago Alves and Jon Fitch, which was originally scheduled for UFC 115 in June, but has been pushed back to give Alves more time to recover from brain surgery.

I doubt it will happen, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Dana cut Anderson. It might be kinda fun to watch Silva fight circus clowns/freak shows in Japan for a while.

Buffer…Really? He’s an announcer for christ sake. Just announce the fight already and forget the antics. Wonder why he’s not shown during the broadcast doing this crap?…Because he looks like complete idiot! His voice/introductions have never been as good as his brothers “Let’s get ready to rumble”…so he had to find his own gimmick, which borders on the ridiculous.

PS: Oh yeah…Please let Sonnen pound Silva to sleep, and then pound him again for sleeping!

Sonnen has no shot against Silva. Period. His game is one-dimensional and hopefully Silva will respect him enough as an oppenent to kick his ass rather than toy with him for 5 rounds to piss off Dana White. Either way it’s gonna be a W for Silva

Buffer would be perfect if he enunciated some of the fighters names better. The man gets outright silly sometimes.

Travis gave up mount like he was fightin his little brother against Anderson. If you allow a heel to reach your shoulder while holding mount, your being pretty cocky.

And he submited to strikes, not the triangle. Not like he was going anywhere though. But he did practically dive into it. Just sayin, watch it again.

Tisk tisk… Buffer said he might opt for the switch of the feet and twist at the waist to eliminate the chance of having the mic cord wrap around his legs, tripping him. Originally, he said he loved his fans so much that he was determined to work out a workable method for the 360 and practice it for until he executed the Buffer 360 at UFC 100. He went through with it, but the UFC didn`t broadcast it.

You see, it`s easy to bash the guy with cheap shots. But for those of us who think a bit deeper, we cherish that extra effort put in by a guy who has a relatively small role, it makes all the difference.

Good video, makes me actually look forward to a fight that I would otherwise have little interest in. Way too early prediction:

Sonnen rushes in, eats a knee, Silva via pulls guard, transitions to triangle choke, Sonnen loses via loss of consciousness @ 1:45 of round 1.

i love sonnen, i hate silvas antics of late. that being said, sonnen will be a mess after this fight… anderson literally is a jedi… hes too calm, too composed, too quick, too accurate, too strong, too scary……. he IS (for better or worse [lets face it, of late its worse]) the greatest fighter of our time. everything that is said about him is true, the good and bad. he is a cocky little prick… but he has also made some of the toughest and most honorable warriors in the UFC look like house cats trying to take on a lion. and hes done this too fighters from multiple weight classes. he is a striking legend… and i just dont see that being taken from him anytime soon. mediumrare is right, what he needs to pull him down to what i like to call earth is haymaker to the chin that lands…. he needs to wake up on the floor to smelly salts and maybe then he’ll understand that hes a superior fighter, but no better a human being than the next…. but…im a logical guy…and i dont see this happening.
