Videos: Tito Ortiz Is Ready to Bring the Poundage, GSP Awaits His Next Challenge

(Props: valetudows via MMA Mania)

He's back, and he wants his belt back. In this UFC 106 promo clip, Tito Ortiz says he plans on rebuilding himself towards the light-heavyweight title one fight at time, starting with his upcoming rematch against Forrest Griffin. "Can he withstand the pound...and pound...and poundage that I'm gonna do on him?" Ortiz asks in his usual eloquent style. "I ain't lookin' for submissions, I'm gonna look for hurtin' him." Probably the most interesting part of this clip is the footage at 1:36-1:46 of Griffin storming out of the Octagon following his loss to Anderson Silva, which wasn't shown in the original UFC 101 broadcast; Ortiz didn't think that was too cool, by the way. At the end, Tito stares into the camera, breaking the fourth-wall: "I'm willing to die for my cause. Are yuh?"

After injuring his abductor muscle during his title defense against Thiago Alves at UFC 100, Georges St. Pierre is "pretty much 100% now" again and ready to roll against anybody the UFC puts in front of him. It's looking like his next opponent will be the winner of the Swick/Hardy scrap at UFC 105, and GSP expects that fight to happen in March or April. Also, he won't watch the Strikeforce show tomorrow night because none of his friends are fighting, and he thinks Mauricio Rua beat Lyoto Machida.

Comments

I wondered why this page took so long to reload just before this was posted.

It's because Ortiz' ego is so big...it even slows down the Internet when it loads.

gsp's english is horrible!! i know everyone loves him but man u can barly understand the what he saying!! i guess its better than some of the brazillians english like machida!!!

tito pull's out another boring decision!!!!

So sick of the 'to the death' rhetoric. You're obviously full of shit, just like BJ's to the death till I quit after the third round bullshit.

Fucking Tito, he wants his belt back, but the only dudes he's called out so far were Marc Coleman and Chuck Liddell. What a douche.

I thought the beginning of that Tito video was showing Cain Velasquez.

Weird.

I hope Tito destroys Gump Griffin. The guy is such a tool.

And Hamma Fist Elbo,

BJ died after the fourth round.

Christ, Ortiz is such a d-bag. And what's happened to his "cool" blonde hairdo?

Tito needs to hire a tutor to help him with his grammar. And someone needs to explain to him that fighting in the UFC isn't a "cause". It's a job. A cause is having to constantly defend your wife against accusations that she's a loathsome, brainless whore.

"Poundage" was my stripper name in the 70's.

Please Forrest, please render Tito unable to speak for at least two weeks after the fight. I will officially forgive you for that Silva mess.

Running out in shame is forgivable, but the moronic comments and pathetic attempts at justification by Forrest days and weeks later aren't.

I never thought I would ever be pulling for Tito, but Forrest Gump is just that big a douche.

If they could both be injured to the point of never fighting again, that would be the preferred outcome.

I hope Forest wastes this fool!

@fightfan:

More like after the 2nd.

@For the Love of MMA: How is GSP's English bad? Heavily accented, yes, but grammatically, he speaks just fine. Furthermore, he's fluent in and literate in two languages, are you? Oh, and Griffin is gonna smash Ortiz. Forrest is a far different fighter than he was the first time they met.

Wow, wont watch the fight tomorrow because he isn't in it and none of his friends are in it.

...

wtf

What a friggin douche im still havent found out how some people actually like Tito

So many homoerotic missteps in that Tito interview. "Can he withstand my poundage?" That is a very interesting question Tito, probably one you have wondered before. "I'm going to put it in his face." Wow Tito, Wow. Also, are you seriously comparing yourself to Anderson Silva.

@hlebtastic

Speaking of which, Ortiz vs. Silva would be a great fight. By that I mean it would be great to see Tito utterly demolished and finally humbled by a real fighter.

@ Cecil, I know what you mean about Tito looking a bit like Cain Velsasquez. Once he starts speaking though, it's pretty obvious who's who. I think Cain would have done a much better job of commenting at Affliction.

Well are yuh?

gsp is one awesome frenchie

Are yuh? hahah I laughed my ass off. Anderson completely demolished Forest, but its obvious and expected that whoever fights Anderson is going to get rocked. Tito is probably going to win this though, and Forest is a dumb faggot for dodging any and every questions about his loss to Anderson.

I started to die when Tito caught himself tripping over his dick while talking for the gazillionth time in his life... you see the smirk (doh)... then he attempts to go with the flow with the pound and the poundage... the thing that makes Tito such a doofus is that he truely believes he is still a high level MMA practitioner, and that he is some sort of scholastic juggernaut. Big head does not equal high IQ.
