Okay, everyone thought franklin, lutter, henderson, marquardt had the right game plan to beat anderson. As we saw, they failed horribly. If you think just because thales is good at jui jitsu hes gonna beat silva, your wrong. Anderson can sub that douche also. Hes got a black belt from the nog’s and has skills of the top jui jitsu aces in the world. Believe me, if thales wants to take it to the ground, he will have to get passed devastating strikes and blows from inside the muay thai plum of anderson. Then, of course thales has a good chance of subbing him once it gets to the ground but its just not going to happen. Anderson is gonna fight smart and deadly and you fools will see a 80 % chance of a KO. Thales looked scared at the staredown and everyone knows it. What a bitch. Id be scared too to fight anderson but cmon, all the talkin and you go backin up and lookin like a girl. Anderson could tell Thales was scared. It will show in the fight… Peace

Alright so Silva wins the staredown. Somebody refresh my memory. How many points does he get for that? If winning staredowns actually determined the outcome of the fight, Wandy would be undefeated. Relax newbs. If it were an even money fight, my bet would clearly be on Silva, but if he doesn’t get a clean KO and chases Leites to the ground prematurely, a lot of fighters in that weight class seem to think that Leites has a good shot at subbing him. So do I.

You know Damian Maia actually said that when he rolled with Leites a few years ago he had “excellent BJJ skills” and that he made the odds on this fight 50/50 (pretty damn high against anderson silva) on the strength of Leites’ BJJ… go figure

I think Maia’s jiu-jitsu is yards beyond Leites’s jiu-jitsu. However I think Leites would win in a MMA fight due to he is more well-rounded and much more athletic

Just curious…someone please answer this for me.

How good is Leites’ “world-class BJJ”? Would he hang in a BJJ match with Maia, for example. Everyone mentions his BJJ as being world class. I can believe that, but would he be totally outclassed by a Maia, or is Maia simply perhaps only slightly better in that regard?

In an MMA match, how much better is Maia’s striking than Leites’, that would lead some to believe that Maia’s BJJ would somehow get him past Silva?

Any thoughts?

Was I the only one to notice how completely baked out of his gord Eddie Bravo is during the spot with Joe Rogan filming the vblog camera man. Watch it again, Rogan even says they should this edit out after getting a close up on Eddie. Not that it is news that Bravo is baked or anything, just the first time I’ve seen it so obvious on the Dana vblog.

Since when is stepping up to a dude, even in a staredown, so that your lips are one centimeter away from the other guy, the manly thing to do? Leites probably just thought that Silva was getting into his hetero space.

Not saying Silva is some homo, but these staredown sure can be.
