commentsI give Mac Danzig the nod on the next fight. Guida is a good fighter but Mac Danzig is world class. Mac has too much experience to crack under pressure. Mac was KOTC Champ for quite a while and has fought in pride also(Even tho he got KTFO'd by Hayato Sakurai.) Mac is relatively unknown in the UFC but is pretty well known in the rest of the world.
And finally Houston Alexander sucks ass. He may be popular with the fans, but gimme a break.
Main Card
Nate Diaz vs. Josh Neer Im picking Nate by submission
Clay Guida vs. Mac Danzig Im picking Clay by KO :)
Ed Herman vs. Alan Belcher IM picking Belcher by decision
Houston Alexander vs. Eric Schafer I am picking Houston by atomic KO punch
Undercard
Alessio Sakara vs. Joe Vedepo gotta go Sakara here.
Wilson Gouveia vs. Ryan Jensen wow, Im gonna have to take Jensen
Joe Lauzon vs. Kyle Bradley I have Joe L winning by decision
Jason Brilz vs. Brad Morris toss up, ugh.
Drew McFedries vs. Mike Massenzio I hate to go for Drew cause I dont like him, but hes my pick
Dan Miller vs. Rob Kimmons gotta take Dan in this one.
Id love to see 5 mains and 5 undercards, I hate that its only 4 televised , I woulda loved to see the Joe Lauzon vs. Kyle Bradley fight on the maincard instead of the undercard, but I guess because he lost they dont see the value in him no more, but thats shame cause he lost to one of the best in kenny.
i really hope diaz pulls through on this one... but like all great fighters on a run, he's heading towards a tough beat. hopefully it wont be this one.
same goes for lauzon, it'd be great to see him back on the W side of things.
all the other matches are just good old fashioned fun, its gonna be a good night I predict.
Diaz vs. Neer : Diaz
Guida vs. Danzig: Danzig
Herman vs. Belcher: Herman
Alexander vs. Schafer: 50/50, past 30-45 sec and Schafer will win.
The exciting thing about watching Alexander fight is that you know you are going to see a knock out. Now if he is going to be the catcher or pitcher of that punch is the question :D
Neer is a HUGE test for Diaz..
i was on a betting site the other day [not bets for real money, for shits and giggles], and what they do is give you a bonus if you bet on an underdog and he wins.. and i was SHOCKED to see that Neer's an underdog.. the rules for an underdog on that site state that less than 20% of the site-viewers picked him to win..
i don't know if not many people have seen Neer fight before, or if they just really think Nate's amazing.. [which, he is]
but Neer is no pushover for Nate..
there's not going to be some 1st round triangle in this one like there was in all of Nate's other fights..
Neer's not going to tap to an armbar or kneebar [see: neer/stevenson]
Nates going to have to catch him in something that can put him to sleep..
Neer's a very strong/stocky LW..
he throws people around..
neer's going to give nate problems in the clinch, in the standup, and in the wrestling..
i have faith in nate, but, for some reason, i just CAN'T pick him to win this fight.. i hope he does..
unless Alexander's gotten dramatically technical with his striking in the last few months, he's going to get submitted in round 1..
Eric Schafer's a freakin' beast on the ground, especially for a 205'er..
as long as he can dodge 10 or so blows in the beginning, he should be able to get it to the ground and submit Houston easily..
there's still that chance of Houston knocking him the f out though..
i had danzig picked to win all the way up until about a day ago..
then i decided, as good as danzig's submissions are, it's not easy to submit guida..
i originally had danzig by choke in the 3rd, now i have guida via UD..
guida's gonna be on mac like white on rice.. and mac's gonna fold, maybe not in the 1st, but as the fight goes on, mac will get more and more frustrated, and eventually crack..
geeze.. it looks like i just wrote a novel..
Danzig
Alexander
so what's your point? u want to date him?
