In this quickie interview with Fabricio Werdum, the former UFC heavyweight says his next fight will be for Strikeforce, likely in May (cool!), and his opponent "is possible, maybe, Kimbo" (oh no!). Throwing Ferg against a seasoned killer like Werdum seems to contradict Scott Coker’s previously stated plan to build Slice back up slowly, so we’re raising an eyebrow at this one. But for the record, Fab says that his gameplan would be to take Kimbo down and submit him. Smart thinking, player; you don’t want none of Kimbo in a stand-up war.
Below: Versus chose not to show the direct aftermath of Damacio Page‘s Knockout of the Night over Marcos Galvao at WEC 39, and with good reason — Galvao was completely stiffened after the KO, and then suffered a brief seizure. Check out the gruesome fan-shot video below. Fortunately, Galvao was quickly released from the hospital with no apparent injuries, but it was a scary moment for the fighter and his supporters.

Was at the event; Galvao seized all the way out the building on the stretcher. Very scary looking. Actually came here to see if I could find out how he was doing. Relieved for him and for the sport. Kinda wish everyone would pretend Kimbo didn't exist, and not even talk about him anymore. You know out of respect for real fighters who deserve the attention. Whatever, hope that fight does happen. Will be pure comedy.

It would be smart for Strikeforce to have Werdum come in and dominate Kimbo, and then build the reputation of their HW division with Werdum....just cause he got knocked out by Dos Santos doesn't mean that he isn't still a credible fighter, to have Werdum as your HW champ is a step in the right direction for that organization...IMO. I would rather see guys like Werdum fighting on their cards then Kimbo, so if it is Werdum who puts an end to the Kimbo side show I am all for it.

It would be awesome for Scott Coker to somehow get Overeem to take a break from K1 and defend his Striforce HW World title against Werdum. Calling out Kimbo Slice makes Werdum look weak. If he wants to use his time at Strikeforce to rebuild fast its title fight with Overeem then hope that Strikeforce can book defenses for him like Tim Sylvia, Ben Rothwell, or Crocop. The problem with putting on these big HW fights is they are EXPENSIVE. Speaking of top HW's will we EVER see Aleks Emalienko fight in the US? I believe Aleks has been submitted before by Werdum.

@Johnny5-I don't think it makes him look weak, I think it is smart...especailly with the plan that strikeforce has as a company, if he is seen by the people as the guy who destroyed Kimbo, they can market that to build more interest in fights against Tim, and Ben, and especailly Overeem.

why would they take that video down, god forbid we make the sport look violent. why are we trying to hide shit. the sport is what it is, dont lie to get it accepted by saying its "super safer than before." its an unsafe sport, yes, but this is a rare thing, they shouldnt hide it just to try and make it look better.

1. What IS Werdum up to? Kimbo?? He's clearly had a brake down and is stuck in the time period when he was still employed by the UFC and Kimbo could still be passed off as a fighter! I think Werdum is more than capable of putting up a great fight against.. Well.. Anyone! 2. Didnt get to see it.
