(Belfort has no problem with Brazilian on Brazilian crime.)
During an interview with Tatame earlier this month, number one UFC middleweight contender Vitor Belfort was asked to respond to recent remarks made by Wanderlei Silva that Anderson Silva is going to, "beat the hell out of ‘The Phenom’" and let’s just say he wasn’t overly impressed.
"I don’t think anything, he’s a spectator and he can think whatever he wants to. If you have a mouth, you can say whatever you want and Wanderlei has a big mouth. But it’s about cheering, everyone can cheer for their favorite, and the important is to be respectful and know how to choose the right words," Belfort said. "In February I’ll have my chance for the belt and let’s see how it’ll be."
What’s interesting is Belfort, who mentioned again in the interview with the Brazilian magazine that "The Spider" is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, made similar comments about Silva’s manager Ed Soares being a clown with a big mouth and he was contacted by the sometimes UFC translator to clear the air. According to Soares, he gave Belfort similar advice about being respectful in his expressing opinion as Vitor gave "The Axe Murderer."
I always though Brazilians stuck together in MMA. Then again, Chuteboxe and Brazilian Top Team were like the Crips and the Bloods back in the day, so I guess it isn’t THAT surprising.

commentsDamm this would be a great discussion to have over a case of beers.
And anyone who thinks its all love and cooperation in Brazilian fight circles, cast your mind back to the mutual respect and admiration between the Maia and Silva camps leading into and post "Dancing with the stars' Abu Dhabi
Anyway, I think a rematch between these two ends the same as the first fight but it probably goes a little longer. If Vitor beats the Spider though, I don't think Belfort/Wanderlei II happens.
Brazilian LightHeavyWeight Round Robin Tournament
Machida, Shogun, Wandy, Anderson, and Belfort all have to fight one another at 205. Wins are worth 2 points, draws are worth 1 point, losses are worth 0.
Who takes it with the most points?
I guess his defeat at the hands of Vitor out weighs his betrayal at the hands of Anderson?
i think its going to be the other way around.
All that being said, I think Wand was the one telling us about how you talk shit about people and you lose your teeth, or some portugeuse variation of that.
It would be as outstanding as it would be unlikely to see Wandy axemurder Vitor's face.
