MMA Video Tribute: 9 ‘Falling Tree’ Knockouts

“WEC 41: Brown vs. Faber 2″ Video Preview

(Props: MMA Mania)

After their first meeting six months ago resulted in Urijah Faber getting crushed and losing his featherweight title, the California Kid and the WEC’s current 145-pound champ Mike Brown will have their rematch at WEC 41, which goes down June 7th at the ARCO Arena in Faber’s hometown of Sacramento. Both headliners discuss the matchup in this new promo video, which shows that Brown is slightly peeved that his win over Faber is still considered a fluke in the eyes of some fans, while Faber is all "whatever brah, let’s do this, I want that belt back." (Not a direct quote.) Meanwhile, Frank Mir pops in to give his large-man perspective.

WEC 41 will also feature Jose Aldo, Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone, Jens Pulver, and Manny Gamburyan. The full lineup is after the jump; please toss your insightful predictions into the comments section.

Is it just me, or is that main event pretty short? Is that even gonna fill 2 hours?

If I was Brown I'd be pissed too. He demolished Garcia and he looks bigger than Urijah. I wouldnt count Brown out but Faber is a beast. All I can say is I'm thankful the WEC has some REAL talent, even if it is Fetherweight that I can watch for free on TV Live. Urijan RNC Round 2

Brown KO/TKO Rnd 1. I hope Jens pulls out a win. Should be a good night of fights though and I am glad they decided to leave it on Versus and not try to go the PPV route.

Brown TKO early in round 2. brown's a big featherweight and will prove he's the stronger fighter again. As for Jens, I've been a fan for years now, me being a 155 i've always loved his tenacity and will to fight anyone. i hope for a victory just to see him continue to fight but the end is near. It's been a great run though.

  13. Fedor vs. Bas Says:

I gotta say I'm shocked with how many people are picking Brown, I guess the hardcore fans think the bigger guy (Brown) will win. He's a serious threat any anything can happen in a fight, I just can't see it happening again. Faber (Hoping for a good fight) Aldo Cerrone & Pulver (Hoping Jens just isn't done)

If its got Jose Aldo and Donald Cerrone on it than this shuld be a damn good card.

Fedor vs. Bas got my predictions for me. Urijah isn't going to take Brown lightly this time. He'll use his speed and toolbox of weapons to dismantle the Champ. MTB is a boss, but he operates at about half the speed of Faber. Cerrone and Aldo are going to be stars as the WEC blows up.

Faber has an unfair advantage. He can punch Brown right on the chin and try to knock him out, but Brown can't return the favor because you're not allowed to punch or kick your opponent in the balls.

This card is absolutely STACKED, son! It is so outrageous that the lighter weight classes STILL aren't getting the respect that they deserve. I for one love the WEC and am excited as fvck to watch this on a nice and big flat screen with a couple of buddies and brews. The WEC is always exciting IE. Aldo.
  18. Fedor Says:

    Tue, 05/12/09 - 10:51

I gotta go with Faber on this one by TKO. Hopefully Pulver wins too cuz I kinda hate to see a legend get his ass kicked like he has been

    Tue, 05/12/09 - 11:26

Brown gets it. That will hopefully lead Faber to drop down and face Torres...just imagine the frantic pace of that fight, it would rock so fucking hard.
  20. Give It Up Says:

    Tue, 05/12/09 - 11:30

feel bad for brown, ive always loved faber and watched pretty much all of his fights on VS. but the fact that he is "The California kid" and like brown said more "Hollywood" nobody gives a shit about brown. the story is not about the new champion who has beat most of the top guys, but that the "invincible" champion (and mir's secret crush) is coming back to prove that he is the best and just got caught in that fight. it would be interesting to see what happens if brown wins. how many fights until faber gets another shot. so, i love faber and his style, but for sheer interest im hoping brown takes this one.

No doubt in my mind that Faber will win! Mike Brown is easily the most overated fighter in the world. He beat Leonard Garcia..wooooooo. Big deal, Garcia isn't shit. He got lucky with Faber the first time but not this time. Uriah, TKO 3rd round.
  22. Miles Says:

    Tue, 05/12/09 - 12:49

im more pumped about this then ufc 98 or 99. Gotta go with faber, but I think its going to go into the championship rounds and be a good fight.
  23. just some dong Says:

    Tue, 05/12/09 - 05:50

Brown didn't just beat Faber and Garcia, he destroyed them. He also put in a dominating performance against Jeff Curran - that fight put everyone on notice. So I see Brown winning again - though this time I'm sure Faber will fight a lot smarter. TKO in the later rounds for Brown or possibly a unanimous decision.
