I am against compiling the only 10 times that TKD has actually worked into one video...might give people the wrong impression. They might actually start to think you can win a fight using it....

I agree with those numbers. Too bad Big Country got his ass handed to him by JDS, cuz i was really hoping to see him become the #1 contender in spite of DW. At least there's a chance to see him beat Shane "Directly in the Vein" Carwin .

It's weird, because it seems like at least 50% of the internet hates his tattoo, and then about 10% defends it with a religious fervor. What a strange, divisive aspect of an otherwise boring man

@rwilson: I never cared about Shogun at all one way or the other, but when he whipped Machida, I immediately became a fan because he was so happy and gave a special mother's day shout out, and i thought it was hilarious. Also, I just don't like Machida, but I think that's because I have an inexplicable problem with karate.

@2dadeath: I think the tattoo definitely has something to do with it, and I'm not from the SW, but rather uber liberal Massachusetts

Is the reason all of you hate Velasquez is because you are white and/or live in the southwest (especially AZ)?

I know i hate him for that tattoo alone. Not gang-related, my ass!

@ agentsmith - I've always liked Babalu, too. He's always been one of my favorite fighters, even though he manages to choke in every big fight he is in.

And I used to hate Shogun back in the Pride days, but I love him now. I loved Wanderlei back then, but hated Shogun. When Wandy lost in the GP to Arona I was pissed, but then when Shogun beat Arona next I was pissed again (and I never liked Arona). Certainly this wasn't based on talent, but for some reason I didn't like the guy. But now I think he is great. Can't really explain that one. Although, maybe it does explain me liking Babalu for all those years, because he was the only one back then with a win over Shogun.

@ DaltonSwayze - I really feel the same way. I saw that commercial come on TV last night before I saw it here this morning, and I started bitching about how this fucker Velasquez gets a shoe ad. Normally I'd be happy for any mainstream MMA press that doesn't involve War Machine going to jail. My wife asks me why I don't like him, and I kinda pause and think, and then give some half-assed answer about his boring personality and his stupid-ass tattoo. But beyond that, I couldn't really come up with anything. He seems like a good enough guy, and he is an ever-improving fighter with a well-rounded skill set. I just... hate him. A lot!

I can't 100% put my finger on it, but I root against Velasquez at every opportunity. I'm pissed he has a shoe endorsement, I hope Lesnar pummels him, and I want him run out of MMA entirely even though I know he's got good and evolving skills.

I can't be the only one who feels this way about a fighter for no discernible reason, right?
