Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

What is it With Tito and Trilogy Fights?

(Video courtesy YouTube/MMABay)

I’m not sure if it’s nostalgia, his love of epic movie series like the Dr. Doolittle franchise or the fact that three is the number of words he can usually string together without screwing up, but Tito Ortiz is calling for yet another trilogy fight.

Conceding defeat without an excuse for the first time in his career when talking about the fact that he will likely never get the third bout with Chuck Liddell that was put off by his recent neck surgery, Ortiz wasted no time in calling for another three-peat fight with the guy he was beaten by in his last Octagon appearance: Forrest Griffin.

"I’ll be back in November. No name yet, but I’d like to throw out Forrest, so if Forrest would like to do a trilogy, it would be awesome," Ortiz recently told MMABay Radio. "We gave two great fights both the times we fought, so I really think that we’ll get a triplefy more exciting than the last two."

Triplefy more exciting? Okaaaayy. Moving on.

Unless Tito has begun speaking in more frequent bursts of broken english and partial sentences it seems like a lot was edited out of the segment, like Tito explaining how he was painted as a bad guy on The Ultimate Fighter due to SPIKE TV’s creative editing techniques. Either MMABay was trying to be ironic, Tito asked them not to publish portions of the interview or maybe their radio show just doesn’t have the technical polish that a show like The Bum Rush does.

Whatever the case may be, the interview is worth sitting through just to hear Tito talk about his cracked skull  fractured orbital and herniated discs he used as an excuse revealed he had been suffering from after the loss to Forrest at UFC 106.

There is no opponent in the UFC or any other MMA promotion that poses as much of a challenge for Tito as the english language.

Fuck it! Make it a one night trilogy!

Tito vs Griffin/Bonnar/Franklin

Who wouldn't love to see Tito and his ever expanding head get beat down by three of the nicest guys in MMA? However DW should consider making Tito wear some kind of cup or glove for his chin, over the past 6-7 years his jawline has become more lethal than his fists.

Ode to Tito

This is the career that never ends.
It goes on and on my friends.
Tito started talking not knowing what it was,
and he'll continue talking forever just because,

(then repeat back at top)

Tito just wants to fight the only guy he has won a round against in 5 years, and since Ken Shamrock isn't available he's at a loss for opponents he can beat because his stand up is garbage. I second either Bonnar or Franklin to beat his ass next. And yes, I think Bonnar would take it.

Bonnar/Ortiz it is

BTW, site seems a great deal faster today. Is it just me?

Disregard, back to the slow as molasses during a canadian winter speed.

Make tito Fight Jenna, then just one more (that we know of) and we can get a trilogy.

Can call it 'trailer bitches gone wild' and sell it to prepubesants on late night tv.
ReX13- July 12, 2010 at 12:24 pm
Wait, weren't we trying to figure out who was next for Bonnar? Bonnar-Ortiz. Bonus points if they make it an eXtreme ruleZ match.

Maybe Franklin will be able to knock Tito into retirement as well.
El Famous Burrito- July 12, 2010 at 12:21 pm
I'd say let Tito fight on the next German card, but he might give The Germans the wrong ideas about trilogies.

Ballkick- July 12, 2010 at 12:20 pm
I second that...Tito/Franklin....that's entertainment!
Sakuraba3900- July 12, 2010 at 12:14 pm
Tito/Franklin actually sounds like a good fight.
Kid Clam Curtains- July 12, 2010 at 12:08 pm
Make Tito fight Jon Jones.
knucklesamitch- July 12, 2010 at 12:05 pm
I've already sat thru 2 Ortiz/Griffin matches that weren't that great...Hell in the 2nd match I don't think Tito threw a punch the whole 3rd round. Let Tito fight Rich Franklin, Rampage, or Matt Hamill.

I'm going to make a serious comment here about Tito's future.

If he would stop taking himself seriously and trying to be professional, he would be more successful. People don't want to see him fight, but they do want to see him talk like a stuttering 7 year-old and make up words on the fly.

Tito, if I may speak directly to you for a moment, you should seriously consider embracing the moron role that you've stumbled into purely by accident. It's funny, genuine and endearing. Fans would like you more and chicks would pity you even more. AND when your body gives out after cracked skulls, broken backs, punctured lungs and crotch rot (from your life outside the ring of course), you can still be a moron for years to come and get plenty of TV time.

Think about it and get back to me.

Well for once something Tito said made some sense, Tito vs, Griffin 3 makes a hell of a lot more sense than Chuck vs. Tito 3.
CAP10- July 12, 2010 at 11:54 am
How about Tito vs. Machida 2? Tell Machida if he knocks out Tito in the same fashion he knocked out Evans that he get an interim title shot. Anything to see Tito get smacked on in a brutal fashion.
Sakuraba3900- July 12, 2010 at 11:54 am
I live right by the gym hes opening and thats right by my current gym that I go to where most of the guys that go there would prob smash on anyone that goes through his.
Cock_Chestnar- July 12, 2010 at 11:49 am
Tito who?

what about Canseco vs the 60 year-old man? i'd rather see that video.
Sakuraba3900- July 12, 2010 at 11:46 am
Tito is so entertaining... for all the wrong reasons

HAHAHAH fucking gold
