From April to June, TUF 7 castmember Gerald Harris was brave enough to guest-blog the “Rampage vs. Forrest” season for CagePotato.com, despite being knocked out of contention by Amir Sadollah in the round-of-16. He sent us this quick update today, to share with all the fans of his posts on our site. Give it a read and don’t be a stranger…

Well, I figured that it’s better late than never. I have been in the process of moving to Phoenix, Arizona, so I haven’t had the time to write. I was actually making this move in January and had no idea where I was going to work out. Things didn’t go so well in Oregon financially, so I had to pack up and move in with my momma. It was hard, because I was a pro fighter, 28 years old, college graduate, and I was so poor I had to move in with a parent. Now, this isnt about pride, but I just expected more from myself. Oregon was good to me, I trained with Team Quest and built some lifetime friendships, but I had to move.
I was blessed with the phone call in January from Spike TV/UFC saying that I made the cast for TUF 7! I was so happy and I had prayed for that moment every night — little did I know I had to fight to get in the house. That was the hardest fight, because I actually had something to lose. Once I was in, my loss to Amir was devastating because I felt like I lost everything in that one moment. But I didn’t — I got national TV exposure, built a huge fan base, and got a little UFC experience. I don’t know if you’ve checked the UFC roster, but you ain’t gonna see my name on there right now. Don’t be surprised by that, because I have to work my way back in. I was upset about it at first, but after attending Rampage Camp in California, I see what it takes to be a force in this organization. I’m training harder than ever and my goal is to kick some ass and get back in the UFC. If you want to follow my progress I have a fan forum at UFC.com in The Ultimate Fighter fan section — I have the #1 forum and we talk daily.
I currently live in Phoenix training at Arizona Combat Sports, and I’ll also be fighting in Oklahoma City July 12th, so if you’re in the area come check me out. This is not good bye, but a simple “See ya later” because I will be back! Feel free to hit me up at myspace.com/g1906 and once again, thanks for the support!
