(Floyd knew he should have thrown paper.)
Update: These quotes are fake, apparently. Sorry, guys.
Two can play the "never heard of you" game. This Saturday will see the pay-per-view faceoff between UFC 103 and Mayweather vs. Marquez, and after Dana White dismissed the upcoming boxing match as "the fight that nobody cares about," Floyd went to cagereport.net to drop some bombs of his own. Some highlights…
On Rich Franklin: "Who’s Rich Franklin? There’s 8 year old kids just starting out in my gym who punch better than that guy. I’ve seen that guy try to punch and felt sorry for him, embarrassed for him – I think Roger [Mayweather] still has some spaces left in the beginners class, might want to get the basics down before he goes head to head with me. I mean come on, until he generates a revenue of 2.5 million he don’t even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Floyd Mayweather let alone be trying to compete with me."
Brock Lesnar: “The main difference between Boxing and MMA is the fact that boxing is a real sport and requires skill to reach the top. When you watch boxing you know you ain’t [going to] see some WWE clown walk in and take the belt after a couple fights. It ain’t happening. That’s because it takes years to perfect and master the sweet science, MMA is nothing more than a sideshow act that probably won’t even be around in 10 years time. Boxing ain’t going anywhere, write that down."
On Mayweather vs. Marquez: "What you’re getting here is two of the best pound for pound fighters in the world going at it to determine who is number one, what they got there is two journeymen, bar room fighters who can’t tell a fish hook from a check hook…I’m gonna give the people at home something to talk about the next day; everyone is going to be talking about the Floyd Mayweather fight that was on last night. Ain’t gonna be no one talking about those two guys who rolled around on the floor for 3 rounds. That’s why I was and still am the PPV king."
On Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic: “I think he forgot he has a right hand, give him a pair of 12 ounce gloves and Vlad Klitchko would tear up that ass in seconds."
On Tim Sylvia: "Look, I just watched an ex-UFC heavyweight champ, some overweight unathletic chump get one-punched by an over the hill broken boxer, Mercer. Don’t get me wrong, I love Big Ray but his best days are behind him and he one punched an ex-champ, what more do I need to say? Just imagine what happens if a heavyweight contender lays hands on a MMA fighter. We both know what the aftermath will look like.”
On the financial disparities between boxing and MMA: "If so many people want to watch those guys fight then why isn’t Dana White paying them like it?"
Okay, so he’s got a point with the money thing, and I’m impressed that he even knows who Cro Cop is, but still, this guy needs to be humbled, old country way. Come on JMM, we’re counting on you…

commentsYou're right. Still...
@ UFC Fan
To the first correction, it's TOO bad, not TO bad. Learn english.
Secondly,
"why don't you correct it then grammer nazi?
are you such a fan of his that the only way to defend the words he says is try to find flaws in what I typed? hows that working out for you?"
It's grammAR, not grammER. I'm not a fan of mayweather or boxing. Similarly, I'm not a fan of ignorant racist fuckers like you. How's being a dumb fucking hick working out for you? Learn english.
great find. floyd sr says some stupid shit, but he's bang on there
Mayweather Sr. Blasts Floyd Jr. Over MMA Move
Why cant we be fans of BOTH sports?? seriously, lets just drop it already!!!
Imagining what would happen to Floyd in an MMA match is silly. Of course he'd lose those that he didn't KO the guy early but those same people would stand 0 chance against Floyd in a boxing match. I guess it makes you feel better to imagine them.
Floyd could lose Saturday but I have a feeling he'll be hurting your ears with the undefeated bravado he spits out now.
not that im a huge lesnar fan, but if he were in boxing he would have fought 10-20 clowns/tomato cans/"opponents" to pad his record and then would get a big fight. instead he took on legit competition right off the bat and for the most part dominated. lesnar fan or not, those are the facts. floyd also fails to mention that lesnar was an ncaa runner-up and champ.
i would love to see floyd get in the ring with someone who had good muay thai. god damn. he would eat shin on the first punch he slipped
Just ignore the trolls. They do it for attention, don't give it to them.
are you such a fan of his that the only way to defend the words he says is try to find flaws in what I typed? hows that working out for you?
"who gives a flying fuck what this nigger says?
And BOYS if you don't like the word nigger to bad.
Nigger is about uneducated stupidity..."
If you cannot type out proper grammar, you likely shouldn't be spouting off on 'uneducated stupidity'.
Sure they aren't even in remotely close weight-classes, but fuck it.
Dana is right that it isn't the fight everyone wants to see, but it's still better than the UFC 103 main event.
The man is undefeated and certainly one of the greatest boxers to ever live. Yes he'd lose an MMA match to most MMA fighters, but there's not a single MMA fighter in the world who would stand a chance in a boxing match with him. They are two different sports.
I'm much more looking forward to Mayweather's return to the ring than UFC 103. The card isn't that great, get over it.
That being said, I won't pay a dime to watch either of them.
