With UFC 2009 Undisputed an unqualified success both here and abroad, we won’t be seeing five year gaps between UFC video games anymore. Dana White announced at last night’s 2009 Video Game Awards on Spike that next year would see the release of UFC 2010 Undisputed — which gives THQ one year to add heel-hooks and gogoplatas to the game and figure out how to animate Clay Guida‘s hair. Of course, there should be a new crop of fighters in the 2010 edition as well. For those of you who have been furiously playing UFC 2009 Undisputed since its release, what other improvements would you like to see?
If you’re curious, the video after the jump shows you how to construct Fedor Emelianenko in the game’s "Create a Fighter" mode — though maybe he’ll be an official playable character one of these years…

commentsSeriously who thought it would be a good idea to make everyone right handed. it was just lazy. but other then that i like the game alot.
I would like to be able to pick my own punches and kicks. not just by style. i understand they don't want boxers doing flying knees. I just want a little bit more variety i guess.
Seriously, that is a good idea though. I think the game would also be better served by having more styles Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, JKD, Shotokan, Kenpo, etc. with the ability to assign custom moves to your CAF if you choose freestyle fighting or a style no one's used yet. I'm still waiting for someone to effectively use JKD in the UFC...
The refs should be more aggressive when stopping fights.
In LIVE there should be a way to keep track of the people who didn't finish a fight. I've beat some people and they turn off their XBOX before the stats are updated and the fight is not counted in a players record. Be nice if I can avoid these fuckers that do it regularly.
Don't know if this is in the current game or not, but keep the fighters stats updated in the game as they fight in real life.
Undisputed is the best beta-release of video game ever. They obviously released it as part of the run-up to UFC 100, cuz everyone will buy it... and after everyone gets good at it, 2010 will be out, and buy that too. That's why UFC is where it's at. 2010 will be the finished version. And Clay Guida's hair will not give you RROD. Perhaps they'll update Mazzagattis accuracy too. Oh snap!
- South-paws.
- A more manageable sponsors system which doesn't require you to hop through 7 menu's each time you wanna add/change one.
- The chance to score a submission without having your subs skill over 80.
- Omoplata's before gogoplata's please.
- A more advanced and dynamic submissions system which allows you to transition between subs (I.E. Triangle - Armbar and vice versa, also omoplata to armbar, heel hooks to knee bars etc).
I did get my answer on why they didn't include a Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 style of updating (with the billboards). Rather than just having the game connect to a server to update rankings and current champions, they'd rather charge you 60 bucks a year to buy the same game.
Other than that, solid game. Loads of fun.
And Tank! (but can only throw big rights or attempt to throw u out of the cage)
