You’ve Got To Be F*cking Kidding Me: Jose Aldo Now Out of UFC 153 With Foot Injury

(Can you help me, Siri? Well, you can start by wiping that fucking dumb-ass smile off your shiny, lifeless, screen! And you can give me a bit of fucking good news: a fucking pay-per-view, that actually fucking happens, a fucking title fight, a fucking healthy fighter! Five fucking fights and a ringside seat!)

Well, if the news that Rampage Jackson was out of UFC 153 with an elbow injury wasn’t enough to get you fired up, then maybe this will. Making sure to cap off the summer with a bang, the injury curse of 2012 has struck again. And once again, featherweight champion Jose Aldo is the victim, as he has suffered a foot injury that has forced him out of his UFC 153 bout with Frankie Edgar, whom you may recall was stepping in for an injured Eric Koch. Whom you may recall was originally supposed to face Aldo at UFC 149 until Aldo injured himself for the first time.

It may not have happened yet, but we’re going to go ahead and claim that GSP is out of UFC Whatever with a torn Whachamacallit.

The news was once again delivered by Dana White via his Twitter.

Now Aldo is out with foot injury. Main and co main in the same day!! Another amazing day at the UFC. We have some work to do.

The injury is apparently unrelated to the motorcycle accident Aldo was involved in just under a week ago, which shows us that the injury curse has moved on from simple hope crushing to full-on psychological warfare. Fuck you, injury curse. Fuck you right in the pooper.

So…Edgar vs. Sonnen, anybody?

In related injury news…

Vladimir Matyushenko has suffered a torn achilles and has been forced out of his bout with the returning Matt Hamill at UFC 152. Matyushenko’s replacement will actually be the man Hamill was originally supposed to face, Roger Hollett, who pulled out from the contest with an injury that has apparently already healed. What does it matter, one of these two men ain’t making it to fight night.

Dewdness- September 12, 2012 at 12:21 pm
Fucking finally!! I knew that Josie was gonna come up with an injury! No one 'walks away' from a motorcycle accident, ask Mir ?_? now Josie will rust on the sidelines n get his scrawny ass kicked when he comes back!

Edgar VS Korean Zombie?
RearNakedSpoon- September 12, 2012 at 6:54 am
Perfectly healthy champions refusing to fight makes unfortunate situations like these all the more tragic.
How the hell don't they have a "no motorbike, snowmobile, skiing, etc. leading up to a fight" clause in every fighters contract? It blows my mind.

What the fuck is Jose Aldo, a UFC Champion, doing riding a motorcycle in the streets of Rio a few weeks before a scheduled title match?!?!?!? Are you fucking kidding me? These fighters really ARE that stupid. I hope the "insurance" doesn't cover this, because that is stupidity, negligence and immaturity rolled into one. Fuckin idiot.
Mauro Dos Santos- September 12, 2012 at 6:03 am
According to José´s trainer André Pederneiras, Aldo´s injury was in fact connected to the motorcycle accident. His foot never fully recovered and, instead has swollen up to he point he couldn´t no more plant it because of the pain.

They need to hold another fighters summit and offer a presentation on how not to break your fucking hand or foot. I mean with all these world class gyms and top coaches and trainers how are these injuries happening.

I've played sports all my life and I'm at a loss to understand how professional athletes keep doing this to themselves.

OH AND I FIND IT HILARIOUS that it's the UFC's Job to carry the sport.. People get hurt this is COMBAT SPORTS, we TRAIN COMBAT. Did you fuckers forget this? I find it hilarious that people think everything's always gonna be Rainbows and Butterfly's. Sometimes you get speed bumps in the road, don't go all doom and gloom chin up sports fans.

Anderson Silva said he would step up and fight to save 151...he will do it again (or be asked to by the UFC) here. The fight is ALREADY IN BRAZIL! I would not be surprised to hear Weidman/A. Silva main event announced any day

make Frankie Edgar and Renan Barao fight at a catchweight and have Gustaffson vs Glover for a crack at Jon Jones; assuming he doesnt fight Cormier after Cormier wrecks Mir
Mr_Misanthropy- September 11, 2012 at 7:57 pm
Maybe the Brits ARE on to something. Maybe the wheelchairs are the answer. Injury, can't walk? Fine, strap each opponent into a wheelchair and let's roll. Two men enter one man leaves!

I have been an MMA fan since UFC 1, but now the UFC can't put a card together if their life depended on it, which is killing the sport right now. Nobody is buying these events on PPV because they are so watered down by replacement fighters so people are turning elsewhere for their sport fix. I myself have gone back to watching boxing because atleast the scheduled fighters will show up. This company has been going down hill fast and it seems DW can't come up with anything to give it life again. Bottom line is, people want to watch the star fighters in big fights, if we're not getting that then who gives a crap!!

crappiefloper- September 11, 2012 at 5:12 pm
He'll yea cripple fights! Throw them freaky little midgets in the mix too! Pure genius, I say.
Hey, we could ask Phil D to hook it up, he knows all the top names and could promote it! Fucking awesome
chaxloeger- September 11, 2012 at 4:34 pm
is it just me or has it literally been becoming more difficult to be an MMA fan lately?
IronClad- September 11, 2012 at 4:25 pm
J.Jones, I see you referencing Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Great caption.

For years, all the DFW haters were bitching that the fighers didn't have insurance, the fighters didn't have this, didn't have that. Now they have insurance, and we don't have fights. Seems that the old "evil" DFW knew what the fuck he was doing all along, and shouldn't have listened to the armchair pussies on the interwebs. I wanna go back to the way it used to be. You fight, you get paid. You don't fight, fuck you. You're hurt? Fuck you, no money for you. You fight in Greg Jackson's camp? Fuck you. You want a fighter union? Double fuck you. This sport is going to the motherfuckin shitter at warp speed with all this prima donna bullshit. "So you wanna be an Ultimate Fighter?" That just seems to have a whole different definition in 2012. As a fan, it sucks balls, I can't remember the last time I bought a UFC PPV. That said, I have been watching a lot more Bellator, MFC, etc., and now is a good time for those smaller promotions to gain some marketshare. The smaller promotions actually have fighters that are hungry, that are out to submit/ko/stop their opponents. And the best part, it's fuckin free. I say bring back the old DFW, reduce the number of PPV events, and cut 25% of the fighters that don't fuckin matter. And tear up the contracts of all fighters in Greg Jackson's camp. You wanna fight in the UFC, go find another trainer. That guy is a fucking cancer to the MMA world. I'd rather watch Karate point-fighting than watch these tactical/safe/fight-not-to-lose fighters from Jackson's camp. Ah fuck, rant over.

I think Rampage actually came down with a case of "Oh shit, I finally got around to watching Glover Texiera's fight videos and I don't want any part of that."
