I don’t want to speculate as to what kind of diet Alistair Overeem has been on, but as Robert from Free Fight Videos points out with this helpful timeline, dude has gotten progressively bigger over the last few years. He dwarfed Badr Hari when they squared off at Fields Dynamite, weighing in at 254.3 lbs for the fight. This is a guy who used to be tall and lanky. Now he’s a mountain of muscle, with a noticeably bulkier face, and the transformation has happened mostly while fighting in Japan. There, I said it. It’s now officially MMA news.
Just take a look at this video of Overeem’s fight with Chuck Liddell back in 2003. He looks like a beanpole compared with the monster who knocked out Hari. They must have some really excellent weight-gainer shakes in Holland…

commentsWhen Alistair Overeem thought we would depart behind the two organizations through which he'd won heavyweight game game titles -- Strikeforce and K-1 -- and sign a distinctive agreement while using UFC, one consideration is always that he understood the UFC would really pay him, a thing that is not the problem for individuals his fights.
Overeem mentioned round the MMA Hour he still is not taken proper care of winning the K-1 World Grand Prix Final this season.
"They didn't pay me," Overeem mentioned. "It's a lot of money, Let me tell you that."
Overeem mentioned he must consider suit against FEG, parents company of K-1, but he's skeptical that he'll ever collect what he's owed.
"We're near establishing suit, but Japan can be a hard atmosphere to move. There is a language barrier, there is a culture barrier. Am i expecting something out of this? It's tough to convey. I truly think it'll be very difficult. FEG has many outstanding liabilities, plenty of delinquent bills, so possibly mine is just apt to be put underneath the stack in the other bills. There's a lot of debt."
Overeem mentioned he feels worse for Peter Aerts, whom Overeem knocked to win the K-1 World Grand Prix, and who didn't get paid out anything.
"You obtain your ass began and you aren't getting paid out? Measuring only unfortunate,Inch Overeem mentioned.
But Overeem mentioned he's pleased with his recent business decision to sign while using UFC, where he'll face Brock Lesnar in December. Overeem mentioned he was involved with tough discussions with Strikeforce, is also possessed by UFC parent company Zuffa, before finally being released by Strikeforce only to be re-signed with the UFC. According to him that was an authentic settlement so it was not just posturing with the UFC to move him from Strikeforce for the UFC.
"I don't think everything will be a trick together with a ploy to acquire me into the UFC," Overeem mentioned.
Now Overeem's focus is on Lesnar, whom Overeem sights just like a dangerous opponent.
"I really do certainly think he brings it. I really do certainly think he fights to win, to get rid of his rivals," Overeem mentioned. "I expect him later on full pressure. I expect him being one hundred percent come 12 ,. 30."
If Overeem beats Lesnar, he'd likely face the winning in the approaching heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos.
"You will discover a couple of males that are interesting fights personally and people males are really inside the UFC," Overeem mentioned. "This is the large show nowadays. There has been other fights available, there has been other available options, but everybody remains delivering me messages, bothering me, saying go to the UFC, Alistair, when are you going to the UFC? ... It's my job to desire to fight the most effective males, the most effective males will be in the UFC, so clearly If only to battle inside the UFC."
Medical assistants
You don't gain that much without having a very strong desire to compete at the highest level. That desire fosters a respect for other athletes he clearly does not have. He took the easy route. And it will cost him his health very soon it looks like if he dosen't straighten out.
I had a lot of respect for him when he first started MMA. after seeing him in K1 it's all gone now.
Fuck that; the internet is for swearing at people.
Most of the actual writers are cool, but a couple of them and 95% of the commenters make me want to puke.
wait wha-
I'm around roids al the time in my gym. You an spot a guy on them like spotting a bad toupee. If you suspect they are, then they probably are. If it's not unnatural looking, you don't notice. But as soon as you can say "whoa... look at him" and it doesn't seem natural, call shenanigans. This guy is a textbook example. The traps, proportions, bloating of the face... it's there. So you can give him the benefit all you want, but that fucker is on roids. And so what? He hasn't "cheated" because it's not illegal in Japan. Bring him to the UFC and legitimately test him and you'll see him drop some noticeable weight.
Wandy Silva is what a person looks like when they work out HARD. Lean, sculpted, muscular, and believable. Overreem took a shortcut. Congratulations... you've permanently damaged your organs and you'll be washed out in a year or less.
