I think you have to give Benevidez a lot of credit for having a solid game plan and executing it nicely. It seemed pretty obvious that Miguel Torres was too timid and conservative beginning the fight and Benevidez took great advantage. Torres is the better fighter, but he wasn’t Sat. I can’t wait to see him and Bowles come back.

And the bantamweight division is now more exciting with more top-level names in the mix.

from a career standpoint, if miguel had taken a year or so to build up his body for a potential move up to the ufc 155 division, it would have been a better career move than taking the bowles fight last summer. considering how quickly diego was given a title shot, torres would probably be fighting bj penn at ferrari world in abu dhabi next month. plus, the payday would have been much better than both of those losses were for him(or for his promotion).

Bowles beat him on a fluke knockout, plain and simple. He was too conservative in his fight with Benavidez, as are most guys coming off of KO losses. Either way, both losses came to the best fighters the WEC could throw at him. You’re talking like the WEC brought in some joker with a 10-6 record to pad his record.
