Bobby Lashley Wants Fedor Next…No, Seriously….There’s No Punchline

(Video courtesy HDNet)

Well, it looks like Strikeforce may finally officially jump the shark if Bobby Lashley gets his way.

The former WWE star will make a guest appearance on Inside MMA as part of Ron Kruck’s "Kruck’s Corner" segment to talk about his desire to fight Fedor Emelianenko in his next bout and explain that he feels that promoters are responsible for his lack of quality opponents he has been matched up with thus far in his young 5-0 MMA career.

I know calling out Fedor seems to be the new trend in MMA and will likely only increase in frequency due to his recent loss to Fabricio Werdum, but I’m not sure a handful of wins over guys like Wes Sims, Bob Sapp and Jason Guida even give a guy the right to talk about Fedor being an opponent down the road, let alone in his next fight.

You can check out the episode in its entirety (if you can stomach it) at 8pm ET tonight.

See, here's the problem with all of these former "professional" wrestlers entering into MMA. They are so used to being coddled like mentally challenged 2-year-olds that they think that if they stomp their feet and put on the pout face they'll get what they want. So fuck it, feed this walking 'roid to Fedor and let him get his brain scrambled. Hopefully after that Lashley will be drooling into a spit bucket and we'll never have to hear about him again.

Son, you gotta lose a fight to earn the right.

You know this be Strikeforce fool.

Listen. There is a difference between "calling out Fedor" and answering the question "are you willing to fight the big names," in the affirmative. Lets not go all "Mike Russell" in here.

The ratings to watch Fedor smash Lashley would be big for Strikeforce. Do NOT be surprised if this fight happens...

Great can to crush for Fedor's return.
Great opportunity for Lashley.
Great Ratings and Sponser $ for a CBS show...

We all know we are not talking about an organization that looks to have the best fight each other. Rogers got a title shot off a loss...let that sink in.

Ron Waterman, as much as I can't stand the guy, has a good shot at beating Bobby Lashley. Ron Waterman by torn-in-half-phonebook-for-Jesus'o'plata.

Bobby Lashley won't fight Brett Rogers, and he certainly won't fight Fedor. He called out Fedor because he knows there is no way they will make that fight happen. He won't call out Brett Rogers because there is a chance they might actually make that fight. So he calls out Fedor, that way when he ends up fighting Ron Waterman next, he can tell everybody that he asked for Fedor, but that he is just happy to fight whoever they put in front of him.

This clown hasn't even earned a shot at Aleksander Emelianenko. He is sure in the right promotion though. I'll bet he sits around trading tips on being a joke with Gus.

HA! +1

Fuck bobby lashely.

joshuan29- July 9, 2010 at 3:29 pm

The Middleweight belt is in Stockton being carved into a bong.

You know those guys who say "I'll fight whoever they put in front of me"? Bobby Lashley isn't one of those guys. He seems way too concerned with what other people think of his opponents, and less about going in and winning despite that. Isn't beating a guy you're supposed to beat better than ring rust? And if you lose, isn't that part of the game, and you grow from it? But hey, if he loses to Fedor, well that's okay, because nobody would shit on him for losing. What fight would make sense to him after Fedor? Just like now.. none. AND WHAT IF HE WINS?!?!? Then it's "well, I just beat Fedor, so I don't know if it make sense to blah blah blah..." He might as well retire. Or did he already? You know what, in Strikeforceland, if Lashley beats Fedor, he'll get Werdum next, and the loser of that fight gets to fight the loser of Fedor-Overeem title fight for to become the undisputed Strikeforce heavyweight un-champion. You know what, you can give the winner the Middleweight belt, if you can find it.

Bobby Lashley is scary until he speaks.

I like the idea but Kaiser Muhammed already nailed the title with "money weight"
MoTropolis- July 9, 2010 at 2:51 pm
Strikeforce should just develop a new weight class that exclusively houses former WWE stars and let them all fight each other. Then maybe after a few years of weeding out, it can produce a contender for a title shot at heavyweight against a real MMArtist. Call it "Sorry about the wait-weight" Division. A little wordy, I know, but most of these dudes cant shut the fuck up anyway, so Im sure they wont mind.

Isn't this the same cat that was talking about how he wanted to take his time and develop at a comfortable speed?

Oh Bobby no... I agree with PurplePickle, let Grim have him and we'll see whats what from there.

Lashley looked like shit against Guida and the Sims fight was fucking comical. He won't get a fight with Fedor, so let the Grimm mash his grape up. He wants a step up in competition? Lashley/Rogers is the fight. Goodnight Bobby.
ghostboner- July 9, 2010 at 2:34 pm
Wow. Just waiting for him to lose eh Lashley? Well I hope he gets his wish because the Fedor that comes out for his next fight will probably be the hungriest Fedor we've ever seen. Looking forward to some black on Russian crime.
