CagePotato Stats: Active UFC Fighters With the Most Decisions

(Jon Fitch: Giving fans their money’s worth, in every way possible.)

He may not have reached Antonio McKee levels* yet, but Jon Fitch has certainly attracted an unwanted reputation for taking fights to the scorecards. When he faces Thiago Alves at UFC 117, he has the opportunity to break the record for most decision fights in the Octagon by an active UFC fighter. (Update: And he’s done it.) Check out the list below to see who’s currently leading the UFC in fights that go the distance. As with our performance bonus leaderboard, we’ll update this thing whenever possible; if we’ve missed any names that should be on the list, please let us know in the comments section…

Fighters With 11 Decisions in the UFC
Jon Fitch: 9-1-1 in those fights

Fighters With 10 Decisions in the UFC
Diego Sanchez: 7-3; last three fights have gone to decision

Nik Lentz: 4-1-1
Martin Kampmann: 4-2; last four fights have gone to decision
Quinton Jackson: 4-2
Jim Miller: 4-2
Mike Pierce: 3-3; last three fights have gone to decision
Brandon Vera: 3-3
Yves Edwards: 3-3
Paul Taylor: 2-4

* Of course, Antonio McKee (26-4-2, 22 total decisions) isn’t even close to being the overall active decision leader in MMA; he’s just one of the guys we like to rag on the most. From what we can gather, the two active fighters who have seen the most judges’ decisions in their careers are Keiichiro Yamamiya (42-27-10, 52 total decisions) and Shonie Carter (50-28-7, 49 total decisions).

I want to start learning MMA but I am 45 years old and 100lbs overweight. Is there a school that teaches the hump and dump style because I think I could really get into that. None of this kicking punching stuff.

Glad someone lol'd. I was kicking myself for wasting a Shields joke on a post that Bob Reilly already won.

(Buffer) "Ofuck. Alright I'm already losing some of them, they're dozing off already.... Uh, ok a little two step, yeah there ya go people, you love my two step, oh geez Dana is gonna have my nuuts for breakfast if he sees people snoozing.... I'm really gonna go apeshit when I yell AAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDD.... Gonna fling that card I'm holding halfway to Tucson....Gotta wake these effers up...."

Followed by over exuberant corner point, and Buffer is out with a pulled hamstring.
