Celebrity Ass-Kicking of the Day: Jose Canseco

Props: Five Ounces of Pain

It’s great when former pro athletes and celebrities (or in this case, pseudo-celebrities) think that they can fight just as long as their opponent is another celebrity. Baseball’s public enemy number one, Jose Canseco, found out the hard way over the weekend that it doesn’t always work that way.

You have to love the commentary from Stephen A. Smith here, who seems just a little biased in his take on the match. His description of Canseco as a rat and of former Philadelphia Eagles player Vai Sikahema as a man who “knows what he’s doing with those fists of his” (hurling them at Canseco’s head?) is pretty great.

Canseco and his people put up the challenge to other sports guys because Canseco thinks he's tough. Like 90% of the tough guys, he's only tough until it comes to actually getting hit.

Who is that douchebag being interviewed? He sounds fucking retarded. "I knew he was gonna knock Jose Canseco out" -- "Vai Sikahema IS A MAN".

Better yet, he said "no baseball players gonna step into the ring, just because ya sell a book about steroids, and beat him" -- what the fuck? stepping into the ring has nothing to do with writing a book -- and there are plenty of baseball players who would kick Sikahema's ass, and Stephen Smiths ass.

"And he's serious, he's serious, he's not joking".

Give me a break, I wish Canseco would KO this dude being interviewed.

I was listening to local Philadelphia sports talk this morning, and the guy who did the ring announcing said he knew Canseco was going to get killed before the match even started when he walked by Canseco's locker room and saw him "shadowboxing".

I'd like to know how much Canseco got paid for this. Whatever it was, it couldn't have been enough. His career can't possibly get any lower than that.

I hear canseco is writing a book about this fight and accusing Vai of being on roids. He wants a full government investigation into the issue.

The only thing that would have been better is if Vai would have dragged the fight out for 3 rounds and totally destroyed Hoser Canseco. More punished would have been nice..
