Dont know why people are saying Cro Cop looked average in that fight, I think he looked pretty damn good. Albeit the fact that Al-Turk is a shithouse fighter, Cro Cops parrying and dodging was excellent and when he finally did throw a flurry of punches, he hit the mark with almost every shot, rocked Al-Turk and could have easily finished the fight when he went to the ground. As for the eye poke, Al-Turk was at the extent of Mirkos reach and Cro Cops hand kind of rolled back, so it couldnt have been too deep.

Dude, all you have to do is look at your typical UFC contract to see how badly the guys get fucked. They get signed to fight however many fights, but should they not perform to whatever standard Dana wants, they get dropped like a fly.

Much like AA and AAA farm teams are very good, they are but places to gain skills slowly so that ONE day you can be called up to the ” bigs”, and regardless of what the Dana haters and the fedor cocksuckers think or preach,UFC is the “bigs”, and all those “ex-UFC fighters” are being announced as that in these little minor leagues cause even they know that the UFC name is a draw. they also know that these fighters are to old, or simply do not have the skill level to fight in the “BIGS”.
So anyone who thinks a strick UFC fan is an ignorant fan is an un intelligent person who doesn’t have all the facts and is embittered sad and pitiful person who trys hard to live a lie that someday these minor leagues will topple the “bigs” OWN them, and show the world that they are the superior brand, and that Dana White and Zuffa somehow are the anti-christ….but that is only because that kinda fan lives in his or her own little pipe dream world ( again much like kazi), while those small companys are fully aware they are second rate.

It was an uninteresting match with no relevance in standings or title contention, so eh… who cares. Prior to the event, DW himself said he offered Cro Cop a one-off fight. Now post-fight it’s three? I don’t know what the real deal is, but it doesn’t matter to me either, save the fact I’ll see one less good striker in the UFC.

Velasquez won his match, and yes he controlled the fight, but Kongo impressed me more than Cain did. Cain couldn’t finish or submit Kongo, and he had tons of chances. Kongo took a relative beating and didn’t give up. Anytime Kongo got distance from Cain he fared well. His corner should’ve had him more prepared at sidestepping and countering the clutch and grab. IMO, Velasquez’s stock went down in that fight.

Uno should’ve got the decision, and Hardy’s was a fair call.

Cro Cop clearly poked him in the eye, but if anyone’s to blame, it should’ve been the referee for inaction. The ref should’ve given Al-Turk the time and space to compose himself and let the fight continue. Cro Cop would make more money overseas, and I’d do the same thing if I were him. DW shouid’ve offered a three fight deal, and not a one fight/more if you win type deal, things may have turned out different. DW used Cro Cop to sell tickets for one event, Cro Cop is looking out for his future. I get both individuals were used in their own respects. It’s over.

I had to tolerate BJ jumping a weight class to fight GSP, all while screwing Florian and the other lightweights. Wanderlei can lose fight after fight and not get cut, while other fighters perform poorly in a couple fights and he cuts them for “seasoning”. I haven’t heard of fighter’s getting cuts or percentages of the UFC game for using their likeneses, yet Fitch gets cut for looking out for himself. Sure, he was brought back, but I’ve no doubt there were ulterior motives by DW for that too. I don’t know both sides to the story, but I know DW”s not squeaky clean too. Good businesmen have to be unscrupulous at times, but they shouldn’t expect pity and compassion the second they are the ones on the short end of the stick.

You think there aren’t any fighters who feel screwed over by him? He’s a nice guy, but it’s impossible to make everyone happy. He’s just had fewer complaints because he runs a smaller company.

Yeah, some fighters get dropped. That happens all the time IN EVERY ORGANIZATION. Do you like seeing guys get the shit kicked out of them because they can’t hang at the upper levels? Some fighters need to drop back down in competition or they’ll get killed. Some of these guys just aren’t good enough, but they do better by fighting lesser competition and looking like a badass (about half of Strikeforce, non-heavyweights in Affliction, most of the non-asians in Dream, etc). Wouldn’t you rather see them fighting guys who they are equal to rather than getting their faces smashed in over and over?

You’re also assuming (like idiots often do) that everyone who leaves the UFC leaves on bad terms. MOST fighters leave the UFC with the intention to come back at some point if they can get a few more wins under their belt. Only a few have any kind of bad blood. Cro Cop and Tito probly won’t be back (probably), but think of all the other fighers who have been in the UFC and come back. The list is endless.

Even if Dana kept every fighter contract till the end of time (and UFC fights all sucked because of the dead weight – which is what you all want), how would that justify Cro Cop lying through his teeth about wanting to run for the title in the UFC knowing he was only going for one fight? Yeah, the UFC got a little attention and Cro Cop got his tune up fight, so it’s not the worst thing ever, but that’s pretty much the last straw for me with Cro Cop. Look, props to DW for being a ruthless businessman. This is the most powerful dude in MMA, and he had the power to create the terms of Cro Cop’s employment through the contract. DW can’t whine about an implied oral agreement. He gave Cro Cop a one shot contract. Cro Cop performed his obligations, won the fight, and brought in fans (you see all those red and white checkered flags?). End of story.

The real question is why can’t Fedor get a one fight contract? Business reasons, which we all understand (a Fedor win diminishes the marketability of UFC heavyweights, increases Fedor’s US profile, and gives a boost to the competing promotion in which Fedor subsequently fights). In a related story, why can’t Lidell fight again? Because the face of MMA getting KTFO’d repeatedly is bad for business, especially with the legality of MMA on the ballot in multiple states.

This whole fiasco has been fabricated by Dana to make it look like they don’t do one fight deals. They chose to take this one time deal because they needed Cro Cops influence on the German card (because of his popularity in Europe). Cro Cops presence was necessary to win German fans (even if it was for one fight).

Dana tries to cover for it by saying that it was an over the phone deal that went wrong. This was all pre-arranged with him.
