Notes...

— The Lashley/Guida bout didn't live up to the pre-fight trash-talk, and Lashley proved that he's not quite ready for prime time. The first round was spent mostly in a clinch against the ropes after Guida was able to stuff Lashley's takedown attempts. The next two rounds saw Lashley on top of Guida and working some ground-and-pound, but Guida never took much damage. In fact, a guillotine choke attempt that Guida put on Lashley in the third round was the closest that the fight came to being finished. It was a moral victory for Guida — though his record now drops to 17-20, while Lash increases to 2-0.

— Roy Nelson got straight-up robbed by the judges. Though Jeff Monson did win the third round via striking exchanges, the first two were controlled by Nelson, who scored takedowns and was able to achieve mount in both rounds. But it seemed that all three judges credited the second frame to Monson due to some knees he threw in the clinch. After the fight, Monson admitted that the fight "could have gone either way," while Nelson immediately stormed off in anger.

— After beating Gabe Lemley with a ferocious punches-and-knee combo that put Lemley out cold, Din Thomas told the crowd that it's not cool to put hands on a lady, and if Rihanna needs someone to kick Chris Brown's ass for her, she should holla.

First !!!

I'm suprised Guida went all 3 rounds.

what a joke of a card, I turned it off after the Nelson robbery and that wasn't the first match where it looked like their was a clear indication of corruption. The entire night just sucked epic failure

DUDE whats with these infected links..u click on it and u get 5 pop ups and shit

popups? what are popups? wait... are you using internet explorer? who uses that crap anymore?

ff + adblock plus ftw!

The Lashley/Guida match could be a college course called Hugging 101

Jason Guida is Fat and Lashley should go back to fake fighting

Lashley could have knocked him out if he had kept it standing and didn't tire Guida and himself out by staying in the clinch for 4 and a half damn minutes.

Does anyone know if that ref had worked any MMA matches before? He let them lay on the ropes for far too long.

I'm not defending Lashley because he looked awful, but he did fight someone with almost 40 pro fights and who's brother isn't such a slouch when it comes to wrestling, so I say let's give him another shot at someone with experience and give him a full training camp to prepare for that guy before we label him a bust.

I think it is pretty obvious that Brock Lesnar is an extreme anomally. For all the Lashley hype, he didn't look like he has much more potential than Kimbo Slice. He certainly didn't look like the next Brock Lesnar. Size, muscle, and athleticism are not enough without technique. I was really skeptical aboutLesnar at first, but it appears obvious he has more than what these other over-hyped newcomers have. Lashley may have just lost himself a UFC contract last night, which he may have had if he had crushed Old Man Shamrock, like was originally planned. Maybe it is for the best, since he isn't ready for the big show.

guida sucks ands lashley needs to quit hugging.

Let Petruzelli fight Lashley so we don't have to hear about that overhyped asshole anymore. I feel bad for the guys that actually paid to see this card. Sucks to be you.

Hell, even Shamrock could've beat that douche tonight.

The Nelson/Monson fight was closer than people are willing to admit. While Nelson did clearly win the first round by obtaining a takedown, side control, and mount, in the second round he was unable to repeat his success. The only takedown he scored in the second round led to zero strikes on the ground and he has almost immediately pushed off. While Nelson spent the rest of the round pushing Monson around the ring, he landed just two knees. the scoring for the second round has to be Nelson and his takedown vs. Monson and his escape, knees, and lack of damage taken. The third round went to Monson for takedown defense and the left hook that wobbled Nelson, which sadly was the closest the fight was to being finished by either fighter. I would have also scored the bout for Monson because of Nelson's inability to set up or attempt submissions or use successful strikes from the takedowns that he got in the fight which were his only point worthy efforts in the first two rounds.

How did Lashley pass a piss test? Guys got more juice in him than a freakin tropicana warehouse.

the commentary is terrible. Roy Jones couldnt have found some guys with even a little background in mma. a "muay thai" knee? come on now.

whew, been a while since I had such a workout! someone hit me with a sack of frozen peas!

I just took a huge shit.

Guida is obviously a genetic experiment by the Geico Cavemen to create the perfect caveman (His brother, Clay, being their best effort). Lashley is a "Bizarro" Brock Lesnar who was summoned to our world by disgruntled WWE fans and boxing fans in hopes to ruin the world of MMA forever. Fortunatley for us, Guida and Lashley dont have the natural ability or potential to become elite MMA fighters. We should hope they never unlock the magical secrets of vaseline use.

C'mon Cagepotato, how could you not liveblog such epic chub-hugging?

Even I could've beat that douchebag last night

First, I couldn't be less excited about a 2nd card like this. Secondly, let's stop comparing Lashley to Lesnar. That's ignorant. They are worlds apart.

The Juice is totally right- I see absolutely no sign of a penis tattooed on Lashley's chest. Other than that, they could be twins though.

I heard Ken Shamrock used Bobby Lashley urine for his last piss test.

I am not a huge supporter of Lashley but I can say for his second fight he did ok. I have seen many UFC vets put on as "good " a match as the Guida/Lashley one. Not the fight of the night but for his lack of MMA experience I score him a 6 1/2 out of 10.Is he ready for UFC ?No, but neither is Brock and he is dominating. size matters.

That's twice now that Roy has been robbed by a shitty promotion. I wish he would get signed by the UFC, he would definitly be a solid gatekeeper and an exciting draw.

Bobby lashley didn't impress me much. but it was his what 2nd or 3rd MMA fight? putting pro wrasslers on main cards isn't a good idea, unless your a 4000 pound freak A.K.A Brock. Just not enough experience. maybe after 6 or 7 real pro fights to hone your skills. Guida was OBVIOSLEY brought in to lose to Bobby just like Ken Shamrockwas suppose to. They tried to use Shamrocks name before to boost Kimbo in Proelite, which is a shame 'cuz Ken was once a great fighter and people should remember him as he use to be. One of the sports pioneers. I do like pro wrasslers coming to MMa just because it shows that MMA is getting bigger and more interesting to fans, that aren't slack jawed Wrassling groupies, no offense.

Although the card wasn't the best, I thought the commentators were ok, obviously they were more educated in boxing technique but they did try their best to explain to non MMA fans what was going on. A lot better than the last Affliction card and miles better than the soory excuse that was Iron Ring and YAMMA pit stuff.

Despite the shit card I was at least happy to see Din Thomas and Dennis Hallman get wins that did not require the judges decision.

My main gripe was the commentator who obviously just learned about MMA from a que card. Even though Seth P. is a complete douche at least he was there to set the guy straight on more then one occasion about what was going on. Seth is no Bas, Rogen or Mir but at least he could cut the grease the boxing commentator was spewing.

With time in the ring and some proper training Lashey would have walked through Guida. He was much stronger and seemed to impose his will but he didn't have the skills to finish him and poor guida didn't have the strength to fend him off much.

"A lot better than the last Affliction card"

Seriously? Come on now...

So I get back from South America where I paid to train in Brazil for a few weeks with some of the worlds best and decide to check out this fucking website to see if any of the faggotry has tuned down. Well guess what , this website is still the webs most popular Gay-MMA website.

So fuck you faggots. I'll check back in a few months. I hope you all die.

TUF GUY BITCH!!! I AFFECT YOUR REAL LIFE!!! I AM STRONGER, BETTER, SEXIER AND MORE FINANCIALLY STABLE THAN YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY BITCH! YOU FAGGOT! FUCKING QUEERS!

Nice takedowns, Bobby. I could use those against Mir for the rematch - you saw how hard it was for me to take him down the first time, right? CAN YOU SEE ME NOW

TUF GUYYYYYYYY!!!!!

TUF GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

MOHAFUCKIN TUF GUY FTW!!!!!!!

KADUMEL IS A FAGGOT AHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHHA

Definately should have been a free card on tv.

MMA should never be done in anything but a cage, that becomes more and more apparent everytime someone attempts to put it in a ring. Its coming to a point where its so obvious that it should just never happen again.

Lashley needs to try and work his way on to a promotion like Strikeforce, I think that would be a good fit for him. If he can do well there and build up a record then sure try him in some UFC undercards, but until then he isn't ready for primetime. Everyone loves to compare Lesnar and Lashley but lets remember how Lesnar got into the UFC.... He basically begged and pleaded with Dana to give him a shot and Dana realizing the hype and money it could generate accepted and now Lesnar is champ. Lashley wasn't "as big" a star as Lesnar was in the WWE so he will be forced to do alot more before Dana even considers offering him a contract. Lashley will get better with time.

I am just waiting for this Hybrid card stuff to get really out of hand. I can see with in a couple years the WWE will offer a real MMA fight during Wrestlemania or something absurd. (they paid Mayweather 10 million to fight Bigshow). Its all only a matter of time!

Be careful to not get sucked in to the circular logic of congratulating Jason Guida for such a good performance against a guy who could barely beat Jason Guida.

Why even talk about Lashley...?...He's a big "Dean Lister"....Worthless MMA fighter!

He's big and slow, I saw no apparent MMA skills, unless you call Hugging & Steroids an MMA skill.

WHAT A JOKE!......It was "Bread-truck Guida for Christs Sake!....!!!!

its good to see Din Thomas fighting at 145, he's going to be a real force and eventually contend for the title at the WEC. Plus the boxing announcer did a pretty good job IMO considering he is new to the sport.

People who think Nelson won the fight are sympathetic towards fat people.

yeah, cool to see Din put on a good show. Everything else... mehh...

Problem:
MMA and ADD - Attention Deficit Dissorder caused by MMA makes hybrid cards absolutely intolerable.

Solution:
Present MMA bouts first and boring, lengthy and irrelevent boxing cards last.

Hey TUF, how's that vagina you picked up in Rio de Janeiro working out?

Hope some Brazilian tranny done popped your stitches, you pole-smoking goat rapist.

Jeff Monson def. Roy Nelson via unanimous decision WTH lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So this site is for fags?

That must be why tuf guy loves it so much, and likes to think he is the boss of it.

Lashley showed okay skills for a guy in his second fight. The ring affected his ability to takedown Guida, and in the first, Guida grabbed, then looped his arm around the ropes, preventing a takedown. I also noticed a few times when Lashley was going for teh GnP, his puches were hitting the ropes. He did okay against a very experienced guy, and it was someone who he SHOULD have been fighting, a mediocre fighter with some experience and some wins. Another 0-0 guy, or a guy with a 3-11 record would have served as no real test.

The first thing Lashley said after the fight was "back to training", so he recognizes he needs work. The 15 minutes of fight tape he just got will provide alot of insight into where he needs teh most work.

ffs, keep MMA out of a ring. If you can't find a cage, use a yamma.

Lashley could have and should have won by KO or TKO in the first round. When ever Lashley just stood and traded with him he dominated 100% but then just went for the clinch againts the ropes and achived nothing! Its partly his corner mens Fault....They should of been telling him to keep it standing in the centre of the ring!

They obviously chose to have announcers like this on purpose. The boxing announcer is someone the boxing fan can relate to who will do his best to explain and understand from his perspective. He ought to get things wrong. If he wasn't, the boxing fan couldn't relate. Then Seth sets things right and elaborates from the MMA fighter's perspective. I think the commentating was one of the things this production had going for it, given what they were trying to do. Too bad the fights weren't as good.

Damn I thought that guy was dead or ran off with his boyfriend....

Tuf Guy, go away, you are a waste of skin......

Guida is a disgusting fat body

Saying Nelson got "robbed" is a huge stretch. Most should agree that Monson won the third while Nelson won the first, so the round in question is the second. During that round, here's what happened: Nelson got two takedowns... however, neither of them meant anything. With the first Nelson landed nothing of note from side mount and Monson was back on his feet in 30 seconds. With the second Nelson again landed nothing of note and Monson was up in 10 seconds. Other than that Nelson did largely nothing offensive the entire round, landing maybe 3 or 4 solid knees. Monson, on the other hand, landed several solid punches and spent the whole round kneeing from the clinch, landing upwards of 20 knees to the body. I suppose who you think won depends on how much importance you give to takedowns - but I'd say the takedown itself isn't as important as what you do with that takedown (unless it's a huge slam) - and in this case Nelson did nothing of note and managed to control Monson for a total of around 40 seconds. Does that really qualify him for winning the round?
