Must-See: Insane Capoeira Knockout
Insane Capoeira Knockout - Watch more Funny Videos
Most evidence seems to suggest that Brazilian dance-fighting isn't very effective in an actual MMA match. But the doubters were proved wrong on Saturday night, as a Capoeira practitioner named Marcus "Lelo" Aurelio (not to be confused with Maximus) scored one of the most epic knockout-kicks in history at a North American Challenge event in North Vancouver. Aurelio's opponent Keegan Marshall was clearly unprepared for the whirling-dervish routine, and let his hands drop at juuuuuust the wrong moment; the devastation comes at the vid's 0:31 mark. After checking to see if Marshall is still alive (he was), Aurelio commemorates the moment with a victory dance that lasts about as long as the fight itself. Enjoy it, buddy — these kinds of things don't happen very often.

BuckWild Says:
While he was doing the double spin kick, the other guy should have just grabbed him and did a Zhangif PileDriver !
koolaidkrusader Says:
Paranauuuueeee paranaue-parana!
TUF Guy Says:
mayhem420 would try and pull that shit on me, but instead of knocking me out he would fail miserably, slipping and hitting the pavement, beacuse he's fat and retarded. Then I would just stand there look at him and feel bad because all the people would be laughing at him. Then I would give him a hand to get up and help him put on his rollerblades, I would then thighten his helmet and straighten his little reflective orange flag and tell him to go on CagePotato and tell everyone how he just kicked my ass.
Craig Says:
Ok I get that you wouldn't want to rely on this happening, but that this happened isn't a complete shock. You're the other guy and you're faced with:
a) weird angles
b) different distance
c) a style you didn't train against
Sure - if you're an agressive fighter you close the distance and go to work. But if you start to second guess yourself, live in his range not yours, and get too defensively minded, you get KTFO.
Crapping all over a whole style is ignorant. We can learn something from anything.
Aaron Says:
That is nothing compared to the fight that happened in my tap-dancing class. There was blood and sperm everywhere.
NinJay Says:
Epic......just wow.
Myles Kilometers Says:
That's a tough move to pull off.
Down, Back, B, B...if I recall correctly.
MKXii Says:
@Aaron.
Where do I sign up?
Dee STROY Are Says:
Louis Stevens would be proud.
polish Says:
ONLY THE STRONG!!! (I am guessing he must like that movie)
andrewm Says:
He should have just bear hugged the guy till his back broke.
Crap Factory Says:
While it's not a martial art that can be used in MMA exclusively, certain parts (such as that kick) should be used. I'd like to see that guy in the UFC. Wonder how he'd do.
Sakuraba3900 Says:
im not going to lie... i think i got a tad bit of chub watching that
Kadumel Says:
Is anyone else as excited as me to see the winners of the Bader/Dolloway caption contest?
Saint Says:
I was waiting for the Fireball. OHHYOUCan!
Stupidest thing I've ever seen.
That guy Says:
Fireball. LOL
Isn't every gay MMA/fighting movie based on this crap?
mmageek Says:
Has no one ever watched Anderson Silva fight? He's thrown a few Capoeria moves.
PurplePickle Says:
I will be impressed if it works again. Maybe this will be MMA's version of the Wildcat formation.
GSP's WITCHDOCTOR Says:
WTF is this. TEKKEN?
KimboSlicesofPie Says:
I should have done that to Seth!
Anonymous Says:
Dude, the Capoeira guy actually did pretty good in the video you linked. He totally avoided a lot of strikes a traditional kickboxer would have just checked, which still hurts. If he had just added the "block your face, like, all the time" move he could've won.
Timbo Slice Says:
That shit was straight Eddie Gordo
Chris S Says:
The other guy was just an inexperienced fighter. He bricked himself and couldn't defend against it. A true MMA fighter would have just grappled him to the ground as soon as he started his leaping about shit and pounded his ass out. A guy like that ain't gonna have a ground game, is he?
chris Says:
hahah wakin up like damn i just got killed by a dance
Anonymous Says:
STFU nigger
Dave Says:
Faggit everywhere makes me sick
DBFighter Says:
Very bad move. The guy who got hit made the fatal mistake of backing up. Dance Fighters need room to move. The easies way to defend aginist them is to always move in on them. Never back up. Tighten up the fight.
Sneaky Pete Says:
I'm really surprised that is actually worked. I think the style looks cool, but that's the only time I've seen it actually do some damage in a mixed bout.
Anonymous Says:
What about this guy made him an MMA fighter? He looks like an amateur with boxing gloves on. Just watch the previous video on break with 2 guys fighting in the living room with boxing gloves on. Looks about the same level.
I would have shot for a takedown, probably ended up with an over and under with this guy. Then taken him down using a hip throw, got him on his back, passed his guard, then be done.
Anonymous Says:
Yeah, it works when you are facing a no talent dbag
American Top Team Says:
Perfect.
gvd Says:
Capoeria was developed as a fight style back when brazil was owned by white people, disguised as a dance routine to fool them. Looks cool but not very effective.
Louis Caz Says:
Whats the name of the song? sounds bad ass!
Anonymous Says:
Do you have any idea how retarted you sound? A pile driver? Ok . . . . . you've convinced us that you have a lot of fighting experience
HillBilly Says:
I'll tell you who I think the perfect opponent for this guy is:
Kyle Maynard.
Aurelio would be doing all those kicks and spinning punches that would sail harmlessly 3 or 4 feet over Kyle's head and Kyle would scuttle over and arm-bar that freak.
Either that or somehow one of those kicks would land somehow and we would get to find out exactly what the ruling is when you punt your opponent into the cheap seats.
Either way we win.
Anonymous Says:
Yay such gay music added
Eddie Gordo Says:
Am I supposed to be impressed?
JamesVan Says:
ROFL props to you!
Major brownie points for whoever gets that reference.
T BONE Says:
i hate capoeira... lol its so gay.
Anonymous Says:
See they fooled you too.. ignorant.
Anonymous Says:
i was the first fight on that card and keagann is in our club. aurelio broke his foot doing that. nice ko but yeah keagann was dumbfounded and didnt press the action. using his wrestling it could've been smothered.
still.. ryo chonan got a flying scissor heel hook on anderson silva. anything is bloody well possible.
d0zer24 Says:
He's like the love child of Eddie Gordo from Tekken and Kevin Bacon from Footloose.
Bootleg Says:
He should join the JabbawockeeZ.
Anonymous Says:
