Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Pour Your Forty Out For Another One Killed Way Too Soon: Never Back Down 2 Straight to DVD September 13

(How the hell could a Michael Jai White joint go straight to DVD?)

The world will have to wait a little longer for the big screen debuts of Todd Duffee, Lyoto Machida, Eddie Bravo and Scott Epstein.

Apparently the production company for Never Back Down 2, Baumgarten Management and Productions were unable to secure the backing of a major studio and as a result the sequel to the 2008 MMA-themed movie that grossed just south of $24,000,000 will be released straight to DVD September 13.

Michael Jai White of Spawn, The Dark Knight and Black Dynamite fame directed the movie.

Here’s the synopsis of the film from

Four fighters different backgrounds come together to train under an ex MMA rising star and then ultimately have to fight each other and the traitor in their midst.

I won’t spoil it for you and tell you who the traitor is, but it rhymes with Scott Epstein.

Pour your forty out for another MMA movie that bit the dust before its time while you watch the trailer below. At least we still have Warrior to look forward to.

GOD DAMNIT! How did the spambots learn Captcha? That's it. It's fucking over. The Machines are taking over. The only question that remains is will our future be like Terminator or will it be like the matrix?

This has got to be better than that Michael Bisping movie I won in a CP caption contest that is still sitting in its original packaging in my cabinet.

@Viva: Scott said the same thing about you. Weird.

I'm mostly disapointed that they didn't just call it Never Back Down 2: Electric Boogaloo. Don't tell me Eddie Bravo doesn't have some ludicrously overcomplicated submission called the Electric Boogaloo that he could teach to whoever the poor protaganist of this is.

Todd Duffee! Your knowledge of scientific biological transmogrification is only outmatched by your zest for kung-fu treachery!

I hope Scott Epstein is a better actor than he is an internet show host.

@Mike - of course, now that CP featured the cover of the movie, Dana will see it and send you a cease and desist letter. Yeah, that's right, not the production company, but CP. Just to be a dick.

This movie looks like that time when i had an upset stomach and got off the toilet and then looked into the toilet bowl.

@ Mike Russell,

But that's clearly because the Dana doesn't like you...It's different

If Aint it Cool News is any authority this movie should be pretty fucking awesome!

According to the aforementioned IMDB, Never Back Down cost 21 million to make and brought in 24.85 million. Not bad, but no wonder they couldn't secure funding for part II.

Odds of the company receiving a cease and desist letter from Zuffa for using UFC on the cover? 100% considering we got one yesterday for posting a fan-made highlight video on the site.

Starring Lyoto Machida as Tong Po and Todd Duffee as Ray Jackson.

If "UFC and MMA" fighters are billed on the movie poster in big letters, it was NOT killed too soon.
