Tweet of the Day: Nick Diaz Will Likely Never Be a Certified MMA Judge

(Under Stockton rules, fights are judged by who moved forward the whole fight and the winner is the fighter who takes his opponent’s back in the final minutes of the bout.)

Shortly after the main event between Jake Ellenberger ended last night at UFC on FUEL, Nick Diaz took to his Twitter account to post a rare pair of tweets about the fight.

According to Nick, even though pretty much everyone else who saw the fight agreed that “The Juggernaut” took the decision, he believes that Diego “The Exorcist” won the fight. I guess Nick missed the counter-punching clinic that Jake put on, or maybe he’s still sore that he lost the fight to Condit even though he was the one moving forward like a Sherman tank the whole fight and in spite of the fact that Carlos landed more. Whatever his reasoning was, it’s unlikely that he’ll be called upon by NSAC or CSAC to fill in scorecards for them any time soon.

It’s not that he doesn’t have the experience or knowledge necessary to become a competent judge. It’s that he thinks that MMA should be judged by Stockton rules — that and we don’t want him and Cecil Peoples sneaking out to smoke a joint during every intermission. Cecil gets preoccupied enough playing Angry Birds and tweeting to Chandella Powell about how much he digs her old modelling pics. He doesn’t need any more distractions.

As an interesting aside, the pair of tweets we managed to screen-capture were taken down by the ornery Stockton native within an hour of him posting them.

Now before you all start piping in claiming that the owner of the account isn’t real, it was in fact the “DiazBrothers209″ account that UFC president Dana White revealed was a fake account yesterday. According to Cesar Gracie, this one is legit.

Original "Stockton rules" were whoever looked more messed up at the end of the fight was the loser. This was stated by Diaz. And by no real arguments for Carlos winning the fight, you mean; this has been argued to A FUCKING LIVING DEATH all of last week.
Nippletwist- February 17, 2012 at 9:53 am
oh so if you dominate you're opponent the whole fight and win four rounds and embarrass, straight clown and humiliate your opponent by bitch slapping him just to show how much your standup skills are better you just win under "stockton rules" right cagepotato? you fucking losers still thinking condit actually won. look at you're own poll stupid, notice how it's split down the middle with a slight edge for diaz, oh no they're just using "stockton rules" tho right because if reality is inconvenient for your retarded positions you just make dumb little jokes you fucking poseurs. anyone who disagrees with you is just a dumb diaz nuthugger right? too bad you have no real arguments and condit clearly decicively and objectively lost that fight.

Nick's a tool. He lost the Condit fight under the current scoring system, AND Stockton rules. Compare Condit's face to Diaz's after the fight, Diaz was clearly worse for wear.

Anyone think it's weird that the biggest potheads in the ufc are the ones who have the biggest gas tanks...??

Dana McMahon- February 17, 2012 at 6:31 am
If this was outside of the cage, Diego survived his attack/counterattack and may have very well wore him down and destroyed him... But in this case Jake did enough to take the first two rounds and in a three round fight thats enough... 5 round fight Diego would've probobly got the TKO or submission..

Sanchez vs Diaz 5 round fight - that I would like to see..
bootystar- February 17, 2012 at 5:47 am
diaz kinda right bout stockton rules, I like condit, but the limelight ain't fair to anybody
Dagnut- February 17, 2012 at 4:00 am
The shame is that Diego should of been in a 5 round Interim title match with Ellenberger....not conduit and Diaz....and he would of won.
sevvi- February 17, 2012 at 3:07 am

Puff puff pass man. That shit doesn't fly.

That must be some good shit though.
SnackDaddy- February 16, 2012 at 9:24 pm
The easily and logical solution to this whole mess is........: Diego Sanchez Vs. Nick Diaz. Make it happen..... someone...

I only got this account to say one thing: Suck it CagePotato, Diaz is bomb. Deal with it hater.
BoJimbo Spice- February 16, 2012 at 7:24 pm

dillweed- February 16, 2012 at 5:53 pm
this shit is starting to remind me of the karate point tournaments my douche bag "sensei" used to take us to in the late 80's, fuck scoring points

Like I am going to take the word of a guy who can't even figure out how to buy a house.
Anhonestmoose- February 16, 2012 at 4:45 pm
@Mike Russell
The wording in the article is slightly ambiguous. If you read it wrong, it looks like you are saying that this is that account which Dana said was fake. That's why people are getting confused.
Mike Russell- February 16, 2012 at 4:04 pm
@TheCanadian: WRONG. Dana tweeted that the DiazBrothers209 account wasn't real. Read his tweet and the article and go back to BloodyElbow.

When I say Handled him like Kampman did, I talking about the striking advantage Kampman had over Diego, if Diego stands in there with Diaz which he will, it wont last long.
HandsofGold- February 16, 2012 at 3:48 pm
I say Diego needs to go back to 155. Diaz would destroy Diego especially if Kampman handled Diego like he did. Matt hughes would just be a repeat of Kosh vs Hughes. Diego vs Maynard 155lbs. I think that would be fitting.
Fletch the V Stretch- February 16, 2012 at 3:48 pm
@ Kid Clam - I don't think people here are trying to say they thing Diego won the fight, I think they are stating they think Diego would've won the fight had it been a 5 round affair. True Ellenberger won the first two rounds. I think people just saw him tiring down and starting to get punched in the face a lot more than the previous two round and think that he could've been fading as the fight grew on where as they think Sanchez was getting more in his rhythm.
Fletch the V Stretch- February 16, 2012 at 3:44 pm
@Chonde - Thank you for that post. Well stated. WELL, the question here really isn't who Jake Ellenberger gets next. That is the winner of Kos vs Hendricks. The question is where does Diego go from this point. He needs to get back in shape is what he needs to do. I haven't seen him this large since his TUF days. It is lke after he dropped to 155 he has just ballooned up to Anthony Johnson status. I say Diego gets one of 3 things: Nick Diaz fight, loser of Kos vs Hendricks, or a fight with Matt Hughes after he comes out of retirement. You heard it here first.
Kid Clam Curtains- February 16, 2012 at 3:40 pm
Lmao @ anyone who thought Diego won that fight. That's just being a contrarian dipshit.
TheCanadian- February 16, 2012 at 3:40 pm
As usual CP get the news days after the headlines are out. This isnt Nicks twitter. Dana posted about it saying its just some guy. Get yo shit together.
HandsofGold- February 16, 2012 at 3:26 pm
@Fried Taco

Pass it my way
intercept440- February 16, 2012 at 3:19 pm
Diaz your iq is below 50..your arguments are invalid
Chonde- February 16, 2012 at 3:18 pm
Nick has said before that he preferred the Japanese scoring system when there were no points, it was just a winner and loser. The judges would pick a winner at the end of the fight and that is that. If that was the case and you were to score this fight as if it were to go on to someone eventually losing by KO or Sub, it would have been Diego. If he had another two rounds or even just another two minutes, he was going to finish that fight. But in reality, much like getting busted for smoking the sweet sticky icky, those rules don't apply here.
