Video: In Nate Diaz’s Defense, Donald Cerrone Shouldn’t Have ‘Put His Stupid-Ass Cowboy Hat All Up On’ Him

(Props: UFC.com via MiddleEasy)

Following yesterday’s face-off dust-up with Donald Cerrone, Nate Diaz explained why he was forced to knock off Cowboy’s hat and shove him. In short, Cerrone got too close: “He was just trying to walk forward on me and, y’know, trying to get the jump on me, so whatever. He shouldn’t have walked that close, put his stupid-ass cowboy hat all up on me. I wasn’t trying to be a bully or anything, but he shouldn’t have done that.”

Meanwhile, brother Nick eggs him on as much as possible. Like Cerrone put it before, these two just wake up pissed off all the time for no reason. And remember, Nate and Cowboy still have one more face-off to get through at today’s UFC 141 weigh-ins — and then, y’know, an actual fight. Brace yourselves.

@Dagnut or ToddM- What happened in 1974???
.
.
@DranoLicksNatesUndaChesse - I have finally read this single from you that made complete sense to me.
.
Although I am still trying to figure out what part of the country you are from when using a phrase like "...nate’s cheese dun slid off his cracker..."

Dagnut- December 30, 2011 at 1:10 am
@ Todd M...everyone knows MMA attained perfection in 1974
fatbellyfrank- December 29, 2011 at 10:10 pm
PS, I cant wait to see these two fuckers get it on tomorrow Diaz v Cerrone FOTN
fatbellyfrank- December 29, 2011 at 10:09 pm
@danomite, I agree completely, a gentlemen always removes his hat when indoors and cerrone should thank nate for reminding him of his lack of etiquette. If this had happened in Australia the Cowboy would have had to buy drinks for the entire room. I cant beleive people hating on nate just because he's a stickler for manners and etiquette, sheesh you guys!!!

Cerrone is the only Zuffa employee to my knowledge who has dropped a dirty drug test his first fight for the WEC, and was allowed to keep his job. I don't think that would have happened if Cerrone wasn't on the Tapout show. I don't think that Diaz has had any easy fights but I know Cerrone has been given fights where he was the favorite by a long shot just to be propped for a title shot. I see Diaz winning this via UD.
Todd M- December 29, 2011 at 9:16 pm
^ Agreed, Also I agree with PunchTheDonkey, MMA was way better in the early 80's.
KarmaAteMyCat- December 29, 2011 at 8:31 pm
Really? You guys sit their and talk down about the guy and comment on his accent and his attitude and then be all douchey about it. Cowboy and Nate are two of my favorite fighters to watch fight because for one thing neither one of them has changed since the get go. Now all that aside Cowboy new putting the brim of that hat on nicks forehead for even a MOMENT was going to Provoke a situation I'll refer you to Dana White
for follow up!
Coneblazer- December 29, 2011 at 6:42 pm
Did Cerrone ride in on horse? Or did the 'Reem eat it.... either way - nice hat
KarmaAteMyCat- December 29, 2011 at 4:06 pm

@Punchthedonky

I don't know what MMA you've been watching but you sound like a newbie fan to me. Please go back and watch UFC 1- (Maybe) 60. You will note that the sportmanship thing did'nt get REAL big until then. The fighters in the begining were all about high testosterone levels and it was all genuine feelings against their opponants. The Diaz bros are keeping the original feeling of MMA alive and well. I think their good for the sport but I do want to see Cerrone whoop that ass though!
RearNakedSpoon- December 29, 2011 at 12:19 pm
That was the most gripping episode of Wigger Shore I have seen yet. Dramatic music and all.
dranokills- December 29, 2011 at 10:25 am
first off ,nate's cheese dun slid off his cracker.
With that said, I hate cowboy shit, anything! And he looks more like a goat roping redneck than a cowboy.
A real cowboy puts that shit on so he can get some work done on the farm, NOT go out in public acting like you think your hotshit.
That is a redneck retarded, mouthbreather move.
You don't see coal miners going out covered in black shit wearing their hard hat and wifebeater t-shirts. fucking cowboy wannabee assmonkeys!
Now that I have that out of the way, I couldn't two shakes at shit about either one of those idiots, I just want to see someone get an assbeating.
I'm with liverpunch...wake me when they actually fight and stop posing and lunging like 2 tito wannabees.

I would like to request that whenever there is a post on CP regarding the Diaz brothers that a transcript is provided as well. Because I would really like to "get it straight real quick".
Red Baron- December 29, 2011 at 10:04 am
I look forward to the day when those 2 gangster punks are too old to make a living fighting. Half of their success is skill, and the other half is the pure barbarism of being willing to have their faces destroyed and braincells sacrificed for temporary fame and fortune.

There is no doubt that in 5 years they'll both be dead broke with no skills to make a living, and will eventually resort to illegal activity that will land them in prison for life. I'd bet my last dime on that. Punks!
frndlylion- December 29, 2011 at 10:04 am
I'm not normally known for trashing fighters I support them. Till they act like a huge douche bag towards other people. There is no need for that ever. If your really that good and skilled then prove it in the cage.
For those of you who "don't get the hate" let me explain it to you.
Nate keeps flexing his tiny little biceps like he is Arnold Schwarzenegger. I've said all along that Cris Cyborg would not only kick his ass in a fight but, win in a pose down. He never has a single intelligent thing to add to any conversation. All he can do is act like a tough guy. He does possess certain skills at a high level. He is not however, the be all, end all, of his weight class(s). This makes his tough guy act empty and hollow. Add his disdain for other people and the hate naturally flows towards him.
I respect him for one thing only, he does come to fight and its never been boring that I can recall. But that respect isnt enough to make me a fan as long as he acts like a complete prick.
RoJoegan- December 29, 2011 at 9:49 am
It’s obvious Diaz was just overwhelmed with Cerrone’s mastery of words (“come alive Friday, alright”), and with no ability to respond verbally, he turned his anger on the defenseless hat.
TheWarsawExpress- December 29, 2011 at 9:03 am
This is an outrage. I wish Nate had walked over to check on Cerrone's hat to make sure it was ok and get some fans.
Fried Taco- December 29, 2011 at 8:51 am
I wish the Diaz brothers could draw a diagram, because I'm still having trouble following the logic on how to determine who is the pussy.
Punchthedonky- December 29, 2011 at 8:39 am
I'm a huge fan of MMA, have been since the early 80's. This "new" UFC has come a long way to make the sport more mainstream attractive. You have to respect the skills and abilities of the fighters but these two neanderthals known as the Diaz brothers are really kicking the shit out of the sports' beauty. I can respect a fighters skills and abilities and that comes from hard work, dedication and a reciprocated respect to the other fighters. I really enjoy watching these fighters do battle in the cage. As much mental as it is physical. How they manage to get out of what looks like an obvious submission, or come back from seeing stars after a sound head shot. It doesn't matter who I'm cheering for in a match as long as it's evenly fought and entertaining. I don't get that enjoyment when I watch either of the Diaz brothers fight. These two have zero respect for other fighter, zero respect for their boss and most of all zero respect for the fans. Every time I've seen either in an interview you'd think he just drank a great big cup of FUCK OFF! They seem to dummy the fans psycology for the time they're in the cage. As in,I don't want to see a good fight, I want to see the opponent club him like a baby seal. Put them out of their and our missery.
Enough already, just get rid of this sick sideshow known as the Diaz brothers. Little bitches!
Ringo- December 29, 2011 at 8:22 am
I dont get all the hate, I mean what would you do if a guy gets all in your face with his stupid cowboy hat and starts talking shit? I for one would punch him in the face, if thats not possible then I slap his hat, right?
and I also think that brock looked worried there for a second, maybe not scared but a lil bit worried
